"The Intel I7-980x being reviewed today is one of those products coming onto the market that you know know is more of a 32nm victory lap rather than a product that is trying to leap-frog the competition. With nothing in sight that could even touch the Nehalem in terms of performance, the Gulftown adds to an impressive performance market lead that will not be superceded by anyone but themselves for some time to come."

"Today I'm going to take the Asus TS Mini home server for a test run and see how it performs when integrated into a typical home network. Since this is a product designed for the home market, it should be easy to setup and maintain, operate quietly, and be small enough to not be in the way of other electronic equipment."

"The Samsung PN58B650 is one of those products that can be a little confusing to sum up in a couple paragraphs. For one, this TV is quite a bit cheaper than the higher end 850 series model, but other than the dimensions, it has a better overall visual viewing experience."

"First of all, the Z7 cases have a distinctive look and profile that sets them apart from most others in their class, particularly the Z7 Plus that we saw this time out. I really like the looks of this case and the cooling performance was quite good, particularly when one considers how quiet it can be by virtue of the side panel fan controller."

"Although the Spire TherMax II does set out on the right course and follows the basic tower cooler construction, there are some design problems that are hindering the performance when compared to other products on the market today. Now with that being said, this in no way is a bad cooler. In fact, is is a very good option to consider if you are replacing a stock Intel heatsink and for the price, it isn't a bad deal.."

The design and styling elements join to produce a small, portable case that not only performs very well, but also is relatively easy to work in, given the space limitations. And, it looks as good as it performs. Its sleek, classy look garnered a lot of attention around here, and it's easy to see why. They've managed to incorporate a great looking exterior with good cooling and a functional interior for a cost of around $70 US. Getting a case to market with these features at this pricepoint is no mean feat, and involves some compromises, but I like what Cooler Master chose to compromise on to cut costs with this chassis."

"After over a month and a half of daily use, the Samsung UN55B8000 can be summed up as a mixed bag of great and not so great characteristics. The first thing to mention and the distinguishing feature is the 1.2 inch depth profile. There is no consumer grade TV this side of perhaps an OLED display that at the time of this review is as thin as this model. The second is the color reproduction. This by a small margin has the best color reproduction I have seen to date. Couple these with the overall aesthetics and improved USB video, mp3 and photo functionality and at first you would think this is a touch down for Samsung. But hold on."

Even with its modest fan speeds, this cooler did an excellent job of cooling the Q6600 during testing. That is, until I added some voltage and clock cycles. When your packaging boldly states, “designed for gamers and overclockers,” you'd better bring more performance to the table that the IXC-120HA2 does."

"In conclusion, SilverStone has a great product in the NT06 Evolution cooler. Its cooling performance is surprisingly good when coupled with a quiet, low-flow fan and very good when airflow increases. I like its compactness and relatively low mass and it looks pretty good as well. With a lower cost and an improved mounting solution, the NT06 Evolution would be a excellent value, but these issues drop it back a bit in this regard."

"With the Silentuium T2 ECO 80 chassis, Arctic Cooling set out to target the green, quiet-computing market segment. While this market is showing growth lately, it's still a relatively small niche, and niche products are a little tricky to review. One has to consider the compromises that are necessary in order to target the desired niche market. For example, the quiet computing crowd is perfectly willing to tolerate higher temps and even lower performance in order to achieve a near silent system. Up to a point."

"Well, Thermaltake's V9 gaming case is a mixed bag. The aesthetics I like a lot, and the cooling performance should support even the most demanding gaming hardware. The fans move a lot of air and are quiet enough to satisfy the vast majority of gaming enthusiasts. There are, however, some issues with the V9 that prospective buyers should be aware of. "I loved Zalman's HD160XT when I got a chance to look at it in early 2007. It was hard for me to imagine that they could improve on it very much. Well, they found a way. Actually a couple of ways. I like the reorganized front panel for the improved access to the control buttons and I/O features. I also think that the change to the iMON software is an improvement, not only for its functionality, but also for the future support and updates that will be available from SoundGraph. Losing fan control and temperature monitoring is a bit of a disappointment, but the fans in the HD160XT Plus are very quiet (at 5V) anyway, and looking back, I don't think I used the temp monitor that much either."

Thermaltake Xaser VI VG4000SNA Computer Case @ Tweaknews.net

"With the Xaser VI, Thermaltake has an aluminum full-tower chassis that will rival the best in it's class. The innovative tool-free features are well executed and make working in this Xaser a real pleasure. Arguably the best feature is the sliding motherboard tray. Or maybe the hard drive mounting solution. What about the densely populated front panel I/O plate? Or the outstanding cooling design? There's a lot of stuff here to like, and I like the vast majority of it."

Everything works perfectly, controls are easy to use and video/photo quality are excellent for an all-in-one product. With the rise in HDTV sales, HD camcorders are going to get more and more popular. Consider an HD camcorder as future-proofing your purchase so it will be compatible with the new TV standard for several years."

"In-Win is surely going to turn some heads with the Commander – not only does it have a one of a kind look, it has demonstrated excellent stability and its four +12V rails are ready to power up any hardware thrown its way. I can see this being not only a good choice for today's gaming rigs, but it should easily last through another upgrade or two as well. Realistically, not many current systems out there are going to pull 1200W of power but in a few years this might be exactly what's needed.."

"In-Win continues to make a name for themselves by releasing excellent cases like the Metal Suit GD. I was impressed by the build quality - every part of the case was solidly constructed; nothing about it felt "cheap". It packs in a lot of features like liquid cooling readiness, an internal VGA cooling system, and plenty of drive bays while maintaining a sleek, uncluttered look."

"This case works well for a basic HTPC build and supports both Micro ATX and full ATX motherboards, but unfortunately there are a few shortcomings that keep it from being a fierce competitor in the case market. The inclusion of a remote, internal card reader and PSU add a lot of convenience but with only 220W of power, hardware must be planned out accordingly."

The flat, flexible modular cabling system was great to work with and has spoiled me completely. I can't imagine going back to regular cables, much less a non-modular design."

BUYING A NEW COMPUTER TODAY: FORCE FED TECHNOLOGY THAT THE AVERAGE CONSUMER DOESN'T NEED EDITORIAL @ Tweaknews.net

"To help me convince you that this is also true for the computer hardware industry, tell me if you have heard of anyone saying, (Man I just bought this computer 6 months ago and it is now obsolete!). But who dictates that a computer is obsolete? Just because Rev.B of your motherboard came out, or the latest processor is 200Mhz faster than yours doesn't mean your computer is obsolete. If it accomplishes the tasks you need, it is only obsolete when it won't do a specific task for you, and nothing less. The computer industry will try to convince you that yours is obsolete by releasing a new product every six months in order to keep their sales figures high and put pressure on the layman to upgrade."

This USB Bluetooth adapter from Cirago may be one of the tiniest currently on the market, but it performed admirably and exceeded my expectations. Even with the devices in different rooms I had zero connection problems between the adapter and my cell phone. The presence of other 2.4 GHz wireless signals in the house didn't cause any interference either. For a mere $25, you can't go wrong.

The QX9770 being reviewed today is Intel's latest Socket 775 Quad-Core which not only boasts the smaller 45nm manufacturing process as the QX9650 (Review: Here), but it also ups the stock core speed by 200Mhz to 3.2Ghz, cranks up the FSB from 1333Mhz to a screaming 1600Mhz, and for good measure slaps on another 4MB of on die cache to keep all cores fed properly.
