Thermaltake Vi-On Actively Cooled SATA/USB2.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure Review @ Tweaknews.net

"The Vi-On does exactly what an external enclosure should do - provide a cool and secure housing for that spare HDD you may have lying around. Installation takes only a few minutes and is simply a matter of snapping in the drive and then plugging it in to your PC. Both USB and a high speed eSATA interface are supported to make transferring files of all sizes a quick and easy process. For those times when portability is needed and the limited storage of a flash drive isn't enough, the Vi-On paired with a SATA HDD is a handy alternative."

Zalman HD160XT Plus Premium HTPC Case Review @ Tweaknews.net

"I loved Zalman's HD160XT when I got a chance to look at it in early 2007. It was hard for me to imagine that they could improve on it very much. Well, they found a way. Actually a couple of ways. I like the reorganized front panel for the improved access to the control buttons and I/O features. I also think that the change to the iMON software is an improvement, not only for its functionality, but also for the future support and updates that will be available from SoundGraph. Losing fan control and temperature monitoring is a bit of a disappointment, but the fans in the HD160XT Plus are very quiet (at 5V) anyway, and looking back, I don't think I used the temp monitor that much either."

Thermalright Ultima-90 Intel/AMD Processor Cooler Review @ Tweaknews.net

"Thermalright set out to pack the performance of a 120mm cooler into a 90mm package. With the Optima-90I, it looks like they've done just that. The cooling is very good with the 90mm fan and the package is relatively compact. As always, the workmanship is outstanding the mounting is not too difficult, though a bit bothersome for AMD users."

"Everyone that is a gamer knows that having the freedom to game whenever you want is severely limited to who you are living with or next to. Other than some special situations, both will actively object to you disemboweling your adversary with a gattlin gun at 3am in the morning with you 5.1 speaker system at gaming volume. Because of that simple problem, gamers rely on a good set of gaming headphones to span those times where our gaming audio is not appreciated by others."

"It carries a hefty $600 price tag, but the TS-409 Pro is a sound investment for a home or small business network. For those who need much more than just file storage and backup, this is the NAS to get. In addition to having a central location to store and back up files this product offers hard disk monitoring, FTP, Web, and SMTP server functions, user/group management, and one touch file copy from a USB disk - and that's just scratching the surface! Everything is managed through a well organized web interface that can be accessed remotely via a secure SSL connection."

"With best-of-class specs and a generous feature set with configuration options, the Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W is tough to beat. The Toughpower line represents Thermaltake's flagship PSU offerings, and the 1200W is a worthy addition, building on a tradition of power, stability and cutting edge features. The fit and finish is flawless, the connectors are numerous and the cable lengths are generous."

Thermaltake Armor MX Mid-Tower Computer Case Review @ Tweaknews.net

"Not everyone has the need or desire for a full tower chassis, so Thermaltake took many of the features of the popular Armor case and compressed it all into a very pleasing mid-tower offering. The Armor MX has a lot in common with its big brother including a massive intake fan on the side panel for cooling, ample room for hardware, and solid construction."

"With the Xaser VI, Thermaltake has an aluminum full-tower chassis that will rival the best in it's class. The innovative tool-free features are well executed and make working in this Xaser a real pleasure. Arguably the best feature is the sliding motherboard tray. Or maybe the hard drive mounting solution. What about the densely populated front panel I/O plate? Or the outstanding cooling design? There's a lot of stuff here to like, and I like the vast majority of it."

"Samsung's first foray into solid state HD recording can be easily summed up to be a success. Everything works perfectly, controls are easy to use and video/photo quality are excellent for an all-in-one product. With the rise in HDTV sales, HD camcorders are going to get more and more popular. Consider an HD camcorder as future-proofing your purchase so it will be compatible with the new TV standard for several years."

"In-Win is surely going to turn some heads with the Commander – not only does it have a one of a kind look, it has demonstrated excellent stability and its four +12V rails are ready to power up any hardware thrown its way. I can see this being not only a good choice for today's gaming rigs, but it should easily last through another upgrade or two as well. Realistically, not many current systems out there are going to pull 1200W of power but in a few years this might be exactly what's needed.."

"In-Win continues to make a name for themselves by releasing excellent cases like the Metal Suit GD. I was impressed by the build quality - every part of the case was solidly constructed; nothing about it felt "cheap". It packs in a lot of features like liquid cooling readiness, an internal VGA cooling system, and plenty of drive bays while maintaining a sleek, uncluttered look."

"This case works well for a basic HTPC build and supports both Micro ATX and full ATX motherboards, but unfortunately there are a few shortcomings that keep it from being a fierce competitor in the case market. The inclusion of a remote, internal card reader and PSU add a lot of convenience but with only 220W of power, hardware must be planned out accordingly."

"To help me convince you that this is also true for the computer hardware industry, tell me if you have heard of anyone saying, (Man I just bought this computer 6 months ago and it is now obsolete!). But who dictates that a computer is obsolete? Just because Rev.B of your motherboard came out, or the latest processor is 200Mhz faster than yours doesn't mean your computer is obsolete. If it accomplishes the tasks you need, it is only obsolete when it won't do a specific task for you, and nothing less. The computer industry will try to convince you that yours is obsolete by releasing a new product every six months in order to keep their sales figures high and put pressure on the layman to upgrade."
