CONCLUSIONS AND AFTERTHOUGHTS

ZEROtherm has a great product in its ZT-100 thermal grease. It performs on par with the best in its class and is easy to apply. It’s also available for sale now and competitively priced at around $6 for the 3.5g package. The included finger cot applicator is re-useable and widely available should the user need additional units. A very thin film of the material is all that’s needed (providing the heatspreader and cooler base are flat) so a 3.5g syringe of the ZT-100 will see the average user through many cooler changes.
The only minor annoyance I have with this product is the lack of application instructions, either on the retail package or on the website. The novice user may be confused about the proper application technique, and ZEROtherm should have an approved method available for their customers.
In the final analysis, ZEROtherm’s ZT-100 high performance thermal grease is a fine product that I can recommend without qualification. Regardless of the product, another market choice is always welcome, and the ZT-100 gives the enthusiast another option when it comes to thermal interface material. Try it, you just may find it’s just what you’ve been looking for.
Pros:
- Great performance
- Easily applied
- Easy cleanup
- Competitively priced
- Included applicator
Cons:
- Not much technical information available
- No application instructions
