PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH

The circular design of the dock gives it a simple yet classy appearance. In terms of size, this dock is larger than others I've reviewed but it is still small enough that you can easily tuck it away when it's not being used.

A top-down view shows the main attraction - two slots (labeled HDD1 and HDD2, respectively) that support either a 3.5” or 2.5” SATA drive. There's an eject button to the right of each slot and a blue LED HDD access indicator to the left of each slot. Rounding out this area is a Zalman logo.

The back of the unit has all the standard stuff like an on/off switch, socket for the power adapter, USB 3.0 port, and reset button. Additionally, there are switches for setting the desired RAID level if you so choose. A handy sticker shows how to set the switches for each RAID configuration.

Five rubber pads on the bottom of the unit keep it from sliding around on your desk. During testing, I found them to do their job just fine.

The included USB 3.0 cable is of high quality and a length of five feet should be long enough for most applications. USB 3.0 cables are thicker than their predecessors; this is due to four extra wires inside that are required for the new standard.
