The front of the Plus is only subtly different from the XT. All the control buttons are now located in two rows below the screen…
…and the media slots and I/O ports are shifted to the right, just below the volume/mute knob. The drop-down door has magnetic catches and smooth, robust hinges that, like the rest of the Plus, scream quality. As you can see, we have a black version for this review, and I like the look a lot. The finish is matte with a brushed appearance that, while not reflective, has a certain “sheen” about it that is very appealing. The various labels and logos are not painted on, but rather laser-etched into the anodized finish. A plastic sheet protects the LCD screen during shipping. The front panel has a great looking layout and is machined from a thick aluminum plate. When finished, the HD160XT Plus will look right at home in your entertainment center with its simple, elegant front façade.

The sides and top of the Plus are unchanged, featuring the same ventilation scheme and design elements as the XT.
