Canadian Corporate Information
After only a decade of growth since first entering the Canadian market in 1987, Samsung Canada, headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, has emerged as the market leader. We are growing in Canada by about 20% per year and continue to build a strong presence in every market we enter. Operating as part of Samsung's Americas group, our Canadian operations gain considerable competitive advantage from Samsung's local Americas R&D, manufacturing, and technical support. Samsung Electronics in Canada focuses on consumer electronics and information systems products. Consumer electronics began in Canada in 1987, followed by IS in 1992. The information sales division has grown 61% since 1992. Samsung has introduced a wide range of IS products into the Canadian market, which include hard disk drives, CD-ROM drives, printers, fax machines and monitors enforcing its leading market position and fast year-over-year growth with a strong local presence and reseller network to serve Canadian consumers from coast to coast. Samsung is building a strong presence in Canada as it has all over the world.
Anyone remember lugging around a cassette walkman and just loving having a bag full of your favorite cassettes to lug around in your carrying bag so you can enjoy your favorite music anywhere and everywhere just as long as you had the carrying capacity and a package of decent batteries. Next we moved to CDs which offered much better sound quality but the carrying bulk actually increased as we evolved from a small cassette to a large disc. I don't even know if you could technically call it evolving seeing portability was getting worse in exchange for crystal clear digital audio quality.
Things just had to get better for the portable music lover and the blessing came in the form of flash memory. With low power consumption, simplicity, smaller form factor and ever increasing capacity sizes, flash memory became the standard for any portable media player 2Gb or under. Portable music lovers all rejoiced and the days of the portable CD player gladly faded from memory (pardon the pun). With computers now becoming a mainstay in the audio and music market whether the record industry likes it or not, flash audio player allow a user to enjoy the music they want to hear when they want to hear it without having to lug a couple pounds of gear around on a road trip.
Today you will be looking at one of the smallest digital audio player options on the market today. With 1Gb of capacity, and a battery life of close to 45 hours off of one AA alkaline battery, this tiny option might be the handy music source you have been seeking for the Christmas 2005 season.
