PRODUCT COMPOSITION

For around US$140-$160, from the looks of the package, you don't receive a lot. But once you open it up, you will see that you purchase has a standard accessory pack that just seems to keep pouring out of the package. I thought I would get the usual software, USB cable and a set of earbuds.....boy...was I wrong.

First out of the gate as usual is the excellent user's manual along with your warranty registration paperwork which includes a quick guide to get you up and going rather quickly. In addition you will receive a driver and software CD which comes with absolutely everything you need to take advantage of every single characteristic packed into this small media player. More on the software later in the review.

Now remember what I said about how Samsung didn't skimp on the accessory bundle? Now you can see what I am talking about. Along with the wall power connector which is in the second photo, you see that you will receive the following.

- Power adapter cord
- USB Cable
- USB Adapter (In case you lose the first one I guess.)
- Direct Connection Encoder Cable
- Case including Hand strap
- Earbud Headphone including Soft covers

A lot of people will note that there is no batteries include with this MP3 player but that is for a good reason. Instead of relying on standard batteries, Samsung has an Li-Ion battery pack built into the player which will allow you to take full advantage of this player for over 20 hours of standard MP3 playing use. The battery life will drop to 6 hours if you play straight video which still is quite amazing for such a small feature packed player. And I have tested these numbers to be official if not a little underrated. I was able to push over 24 hours straight with the volume on maximum and playing constant bass heavy music which really likes to hog the power.

Every other accessory fits and works perfectly including the small compact earbuds. These little guys are no dollar store throw away earbuds. They actually are quite impressive and even the bass is up to my picking low frequency standards. Yes, I am a bass freak and nothing ticks me off then crappy headphones packaged with a high end product. Gladly, Samsung never never followed this irritating trend.

But enough about the included toys, you are here to actually see this media player. To start, it weighs practically nothing thanks to the Li-Ion battery technology on board. Loaded up it only tips the scales at around 55g. As you can also see in the above photo is just how small this player is. This player can more than easily slip into your pants pocket, purse or shirt pocket. Size is not a problem with this player especially when the product will be able to play video, photo, games along with the usual music. But more on that later.
