PRODUCT PICTORIAL & WALKTHROUGH (cont'd)
Turning our attention to the top of the mp3 player, moving left to right you have the direct headphone connection, the MP3 encoding line-in jack you use with the included line-in cable. Next to the line-in jack is the microphone and the hold slide switch. the hold switch is handy when actively using this player in environments which might have you hit a button by mistake. Using the hold switch essentially disables all the keys until it is switched back to normal. consider it like the key lock on your cellphone.
On the right side of the player is the record button when recording voice or encoding MP3 tracks from an external source. This button also serves as the loop control feature when playing music.
One thing that has the YH-820 sitting a little higher than the other available options in this price range is the fact that this model has a 1.5 inch LCD display capable of displaying 65,000 colors. But when you think of it, why do you need a color display for listening to MP3 files? Is it really necessary? Well, it is if you want your MP3 player to also be a portable JPG picture viewer as well.
This is a photo I took while vacationing in France a couple months ago. No resizing is needed, just upload your photos to the player and go to the photo submenu
and enjoy showing your family your vacation photos without having to lug along the laptop for portable viewing. This is not meant to be the "perfect" photo viewer, but rather a practical way to view photos on the go........
....or if you want a small laugh while on the subway going to work.
