But why is the heatsink bigger?

Housed in the top of each memory heatspreader is an 18
LED display which illuminates when the memory is operating.

Although only inserted for aesthetics, it does add a touch
of flare to a usually dull computer component. If you have a windowed
case, this memory is for you.
