PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES
The specifications are pretty self-explanatory and the real gem of the design is the base design and finish, which we'll get to later. The feature that I'm most excited about is “Easy Installation.” Installation headaches were the only issues that I had with Xigmatek's otherwise excellent Thor's Hammer cooler. The Balder also supports all modern sockets and processors. Hell, AMD enthusiasts can use this cooler on their old 754 and 939 platforms. The specs list the included fan dimensions as 120x120x50mm, but the actual fan shipped with the Balder is the more conventional 25mm deep.
The retail packaging is transparent plastic with printed graphics and informative text that don't get in the way of a complete view of the Balder.
Inside, the Balder is accompanied with all the accessories necessary for getting it installed on a supported mobo. We'll be going over all these goodies in more detail during the installation phase of this review, but I can say right now that the Intel mounting solution looks very good, and the AMD folks will not be disappointed either.
