PRODUCT COMPOSITION

So what do you exactly get for US$369 - $379 when you purchase XFX's reference based version of the HD 6970 performance videocard.

XFX supplied the usual driver CD, a basic user's manual and separate install guide, warranty registration. Missing is any sort of included game. With other manufacturers included some pretty decent titles with their launch product, I am a little disappointed to see XFX didn't continue their trend of including some sort of game.
The hardware kit is limited to a crossfire bridge and a DVI-VGA adapter. Our sample didn't seem to include the DVI adapter and could only be a small oversight for media sampling.

Digging a little deeper has you unearth the large and fairly heavy XFX HD 6970. As you see above, it comes complete with AMD's stock reference cooler which should be able to keep this card relatively cool during most testing and gaming environments. But more on that in the upcoming sections.
