PRODUCT COMPOSITION

So what do you exactly get for US$235 - $250 when you purchase XFX's version of the HD 5830 performance videocard.

XFX supplied the usual driver CD, a basic user's manual and separate install guide, warranty registration along with a full version of Aliens vs Predator which supports DX11 and will take full advantage of this videocard's capabilities right out of the box. Including popular games with videocards does bring a lot more value for the dollar and is always a good thing when evaluating a product.

The complete hardware kit covered all the bases with a VGA to DVI adapter, two six pin power cables along with a crossfire bridge. Nothing more is needed in order to install this product regardless of your power supply configuration.

And at last you unwrap your new videocard. XFX's version is based off of ATI's reference design with a different black PCB and onboard cooler. Other than that it is a fairly basic and uncluttered video card. My only slight reservation is whether this small heatpipe based cooler will be up to the task. Most on that later on in the review.
