PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES

These charts, taken from the Zalman website, show some pretty impressive numbers.

To summarize, the VF900-Cu is an all-copper heatsink utilizing two heatpipes and a low-noise fan to cool the GPU, memory and other video card components. With a maximum noise level of 25dB, the VF900-Cu is quieter than the case fans in most computers. Weighing in at a svelte 185g (0.4 Lbs. Or 6.4 Oz. For the metrically challenged), this offering is also surprisingly lightweight for a copper cooler.

PRODUCT COMPOSITION

For around $50 US, you'll get the following:

The attractive cardboard box gives us a look at the cooler as well as information about accessories and compatibility.

The rear of the box lists the features and specifications and gives us a good look at the impressive finish of the base.

A plastic clamshell container holds the cooler and the assorted installation hardware.

A very good user's manual (in English and Korean) provides detailed instructions for installing the VF900-Cu onto a compatible videocard. Moving from left to right, you'll get the FanMate 2 fan speed control module with cable and double-sided mounting tape, eight blue aluminum ramsinks with pre-applied thermal tape, a sheet of PVC washers, thermal paste and a Zalman sticker. The mounting hardware consists of four each of the nipples, nuts, o-rings and springs.

And, finally we get to the main attraction. We'll go over the more important features of this cooler in the next section, but you can see the similarity to some of Zalman's CPU coolers here. The 80mm fan has nine blades has dual ball-bearings for long life.
