Speed Up My PC 3 is purchased via download from www.uniblue.com, and a backup version on CD is also available for an additional fee. There's no difference between the two but for the purposes of this review I received it on a CD.

A trial version is also available to download so you can check out the program before you buy.

PRODUCT INSTALLATION AND TESTING

Installation is very straightforward with most users not needing to change the default install folder. I chose all the default settings and once it's complete…

…it must be registered. Simply type in the registration code provided by Uniblue and you're ready to go. An icon for the program will appear in the system tray when it's running, but that can be turned off in the settings if desired.

This is the program's main screen, and we'll start by checking out each tab located at the top. The Overview shows four areas that are analyzed as soon as the program is launched, and an “optimize” button near the bottom.

The Optimize tab is divided into five different areas – memory, CPU, disk, internet, and startup. Here we see memory utilization in the form of a simple graph. This gives an idea of how much RAM is being used, which can help determine if there are any programs running in the background that can be turned off to free up memory.
