How did it perform? And conclusion
The performance increase brought about by this purchase will not be mind boggling but it will help stabilize those highly overclocked systems out there and make the inside of your case look cooler than ever.
The Heatspreaders enabled me to lower my multiplier overclock and raise my FSB overclock from (10X100)(133Mhz FSB) to (9.5X105)(138Mhz FSB) quite effectively and with no stability problems whatsoever. I should be able to go higher but I am sure the limiting factor is the generic power supply I have and the limitations of my voltage modded Abit KT7. But the neat thing I noticed was the apparent increase in case temperature (2 degrees Celsius) which would indicate that the heatspreaders were transferring the heat from the ram chips effectively. (Note: Ramsinks were not installed on the videocard yet and therefore couldn't contribute to the case temperature increase.)
The Ramsinks contained within the kit also did not allow a blazing increase in speed , but allowed a slightly higher overclock on the videocard and stabilized it significantly. The base clock of the GF2mx was set at the factory at 175/166. My overclock before the ramsink installation was 190/175 with some random instability. Upon installation of the ramsinks, I was able to overclock the card to 225/180 with no instability at all giving me a net gain 35mhz coreclock (better fan) and 5mhz memory clock.
CONCLUSIONS:
I have nothing but good things to say about this product. It enabled me to completely stabilize my system, dress it up a bit and squeeze a little more bandwidth out of both my system and video memory. For the little money that it cost, its worth in my words, TWICE its cost in both practicality and aesthetics.
Ranking of product: 9/10 (Worth every cent plus more)
