PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

Ask anyone who has built his own computer and he'll probably tell you what a great experience it is to get everything installed and then watch it boot for the first time. Many builders spend weeks or months agonizing over which components to buy for their latest, greatest PC project only to see the exhilaration of a successful boot change in an instant to dark despair when the dreaded BSOD rears its ugly head. Or random crashes. Or spontaneous reboots. Or any one of a number of symptoms that can ruin what should be a great feeling of accomplishment. The culprit? More often than not, the problem is HEAT.

As processors, graphics cards and other computer hardware get faster and faster, they also generate alarming amounts of heat. Many manufacturers have stepped up to the plate, providing very effective cooling products to aid in mitigating heat issues. These products, however, can't work efficiently if internal case temperatures are allowed to become excessive. Proper air flow through the case is the key here, and fans are the traditional weapons of choice that builders use to combat heat buildup in the case.

With the introduction of the 120mm Smart Case Fan, Thermaltake has provided PC enthusiasts with a big gun for fighting heat inside the computer case. Is it up to the task? Let's put this big, bad boy to the test and see if it's the weapon we need to blow away those nasty heat goblins waiting to make our lives miserable.
