Q3 first realized its vision with the release of the AlcoHAWK ® Series line of the digital breath alcohol screening devices -- the only full line of digital breath alcohol detectors with Department of Transportation ("DOT")/ National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ("NHTSA") and Food & Drug Administration ("FDA") clearance . The AlcoHAWK ® models currently available are the ABI, Pro, Micro, Precision and Elite. Q3 has also released the ThermoHAWK™ Series line of pen-sized, touchless infrared thermometers that allow you to instantly check surface temperatures of objects. The ThermoHAWK™ 200, 400 and 400L are feature innovative, patent-pending technology and are unlike any other units on the market.
PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
To start off, you reading this review means you have some sort of interest in different gadgets that you can use in your day to day life. Now for the computer enthusiast, you can double that interest and then some.
When testing or troubleshooting your computer whether it is to find a fault or to find out what has been overheating your case so much, you more or less have to rely on your fingers to do the touching to find out what component is overheating and not allowing you to gain that excellent overclock you have been striving to achieve.
Although it is not advised, on more than one occasion I have had a morbid curiosity that for some reason had me touching certain chips to find out just how hot they are during an overclock. One example would be exposed videocard ram which can get incredibly hot when benchmarking during an overclock. The funny thing thing is I know it is going to be hot but I just have to see how hot it is. With a finger pressed for a fraction of a second I am snapping my hand back in pain as I regard the now red first degree burn on my index finger pad. If you are an overclocker, you will understand what I am talking about. Luckily my fingers are thanking Q3I for emailing me to see if I wanted to try out a couple sets of their new touch free thermometers which not only are quite accurate and handy, but save me some pain as well.
Today I will be reviewing this interesting toy and will be introducing you to the endless possibilities of such a handy product. The name "Thermohawk" will not only represent the product, but will turn into a verb when you go around "Thermohawking" everything in sight. For example, my dog's eyeball is 33.7c, my office wall is 16.3c and the list goes on and on........but you get the point.
