CONCLUSIONS AND AFTERTHOUGHTS

With its passive heatshift technology, the iXoft is a unique notebook cooler yet it still manages to do an effective job. There are a lot of advantages to this cooler including silent operation, no power consumption, and portability. No fans, no wires, and no extra battery power used – just place it under the notebook and it's ready to go. It's a durable product as well and I wouldn't think twice about folding it up and tossing it in a bag. The price tag is pretty reasonable too at $25 US.
*Editor's Addition* - Although I have no real hands on experience with this product, I don't question as to how well it performs, but one concern I do have is whether or not this cooling pad will block the bottom cpu cooler intake as seen on many new models coming out in today's market. Although Tweaknews and many other sites have seen that CPU temperatures and cpu cooler fan operation are both respectively lower and might render my concern rather "moot", but it is a valid concern for some models where the cooling capability will over-shadowed by an overheating higher end processor. Stay tuned, i have requested a sample to check this out on my newer Acer Turion Laptop which has a hot temper.
Pros:
- No power consumption
- Silent operation
- Flexible and portable
Cons:
- Might not be as effective as active cooling.
