PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH (cont'd)

A small tab on each tray releases it. These aluminum trays can be bent rather easily so be careful when handling them. At this point we are ready to move on to installation, so let's get to it.
PRODUCT INSTALLATION AND TESTING

Four screws secure each hard drive to the tray. When that is done, just insert the drives back into their respective bays, plug everything in, and turn the unit on.

The next step is to run the setup CD. The NAS was found on my network almost immediately, and from that point you can begin the setup wizard.

You can choose one click setup to automatically install the system firmware and apply default settings, or manual installation to go step by step. I'm going to choose manual installation for the purposes of this review.

The next step is to choose which RAID configuration you would like. Choices are JBOD, RAID 0, and RAID 1. I chose a RAID 1 array and the initialization took a couple minutes to complete.
