Most people who see the N0204 will probably assume it to be a portable hard drive rather than a NAS. It really is that small. The chassis is constructed of both plastic and aluminum. Let's look in closer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At the top of the front panel is a USB copy button, which we'll go over further in just a bit. Below that button are activity lights for each hard drive and LAN. A blue power LED is below them. Rounding out this area is a USB 2.0 port for attaching external storage devices.

Flipping over to the back of the unit, we can see the vertical HDD trays on each side. Between them are the LAN port, USB 1.1 port, power button, and power socket. It seems a little odd to use a USB 1.1 port in this day and age, but according to the manual it's meant for a printer. There is still a USB 2.0 port in the front to use for everything else.

On the bottom are four pads to keep the unit from sliding around on your desk. The black plastic piece in the center is removable. Take that plastic piece out and you can then slide the NAS onto the included stand.

The stand not only helps stabilize the NAS while it's on your desk, but it also has a cooling fan built in. It simply snaps on to the bottom of the unit.
