Pricing for a diskless DS211j is currently $200 US from online retailers. Expect to pay around $400 US for a preconfigured model with two 1TB drives pre-installed. My review sample arrived safely with help from some careful packaging by Synology.

Everything you need to get up and running is provided right out of the box. This includes a power adapter and cable, Ethernet cable, quick start guide, installation screws, and a setup CD that includes various utilities as well as a detailed manual. If you ordered a preconfigured unit, the hard drives will already be installed – otherwise it's the responsibility of the user to provide them.
