With a 1.2GHz CPU and 128MB of RAM, the hardware is right in line with where a budget home NAS should be. Additionally, support for up to two 3TB hard drives assures the unit can grow right along with your network.

Synology products support various printers, hard drives, IP cameras, wireless dongles, backup software, and even some USB speakers. A list of all the supported peripherals can be found HERE.

On the software side of things, the DS211j feature set is impressive. Some standouts include hosting for up to 30 websites as well as support for up to five IP cameras if you want to set up a surveillance server. The built-in DLNA/UPnP Media server supports the Xbox 360 and PS3, as well as just about every common photo, audio and video format including many HD formats.
