PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH
I had a feeling of déjà vu when I first laid eyes on the DS210j, because it looks nearly identical to the DS209. They both sport the same white plastic case and the same buttons on the front. All in all it's a very nice looking unit.
Looking in closer on the front, we have various indicator lights. The “status” LED will blink during activity, “LAN” will light up when there's network connectivity, and each hard drive has a respective indicator as well. There's a USB port here for adding an external device and a USB Copy button below it (more on this later). Rounding out this area is a power button that sports a blue LED.
At the back is a 70mm cooling fan, two more USB ports, and a LAN port. A tiny reset button is also here in the event you need to restore all settings back to factory default. Note the two screws in the upper right and lower right corners – these will have to be removed in order to access the inside.
On the bottom are four rubber feet to stabilize the unit and a raised notch that indicates whether the case is open or not. After the two screws on the back are removed, half the case will slide forward and can be removed.
