PRODUCT PICTORIAL AND WALKTHROUGH

Most enclosures these days have smart fans that automatically adjust their speed based on temperature, but this one is a bit different. The 60mm fan is controlled by a switch at the top of the unit with a choice of low or high speeds.

Also around back is a series of DIP switches that are used to set the desired RAID level (JBOD is default). Again, this is not something seen too often on enclosures, but an easy to follow chart is right there so even a novice user can configure it without issues. A single USB port and eSATA port are clearly displayed also.

The drive trays are also made of aluminum and have large cutouts on the bottom to maximize airflow. Like the enclosure itself, the trays are sturdy and provide good protection for your hard drives.

Looking inside the unit gives a view of the cooling fan and the SATA connectors. It is nice and open to promote maximum airflow. Let's install some drives and see how this enclosure performs.
PRODUCT INSTALLATION AND TESTING

Sunnytek keeps it simple when it comes time to install drives. Placing the drive in the tray and securing it with four screws is all there is to it. Don't forget to set the DIP switches on the back before turning it on.

Once the RAID array has finished building, the RAID management software and backup program can be installed. The CD includes software for several kinds of Sunnytek products, so be sure to verify the model number and make sure you install the correct one.
