PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES

The Fortress FT02 has an aluminum unibody frame and a steel body that makes the chassis weigh in at a hefty 15 Kg. (33 Lbs.) It comes in black or silver finish, with or without a side window. Our review sample is model number SST-FT02S, a silver chassis without the window option and all the models have the same dimensions of 8.4 inches wide, 19.6 inches high with a depth of 24.25 inches. There are several good reasons for these unusual dimensions, as we'll see shortly. We'll also take a more detailed look at the other features as we go, but be aware that I'll be using terms like “non-standard” and “innovative” with some regularity to describe the interior arrangement that SilverStone uses to achieve the excellent cooling properties while keeping the acoustic footprint as small as possible. The liquid cooling crowd shouldn't be disappointed, either.
PRODUCT COMPOSITION

The Fortress arrived in a suitably rugged, double-thick cardboard carton with excellent graphics and informative text on virtually every surface. Inside the box…

…the Fortress is protected by a heavy plastic wrap sandwiched between two Styrofoam blocks to help insure that it arrives at its destination in pristine condition. SilverStone includes a small, white chipboard box containing the manual and accessories and it is conveniently taped to the plastic bag, rather than stowed somewhere in the interior.
