PRODUCT COMPOSITION & PICTORIAL
The fans come tightly wrapped in a small bag. A 4 pin
molex adapter is nearly folded and wrapped in its own bag with four
gold coloured fan screws.
A closer look allows you to see the probe for the built
in thermistor which controls the fan speed depending on the case temperature.
Sadly, you have no real way of controlling this feature. Still, for
those without fan controllers, this is a fantastic feature. Why have
the fan running at full RPMs when it doesn't have to.
You can see in these shots, that the fan includes 4 vibration
isolation mounts. The same mounts are used with the SilenX power supply
units, and they add that much more control over vibrations and noise.
Excellent!
SilenX also proudly proclaims that these fans use a new design which
allows them to push through more air in a quieter fashion.
"One of the quietest fans available on the market based on unique hypro
bearings. These are not only quiet, but generate more airflow than other
fans in its class. With smoother, thinner fan fins, swept blade design
and a built in thermistor to control the fan speed accordingly to temperature,
Panaflos and Pabst can't touch it!"
Well, we'll just have to see about that, won't we.
