Specs on the MN4L+ are pretty impressive. A 1.2 GHz Intel Processor and 512MB of DDR II memory provide a solid foundation, while the embedded software RAID engine provides support for RAID 0, 1, 1+0, 5, and 6. Drives are hot swappable too.

It's not unusual for a NAS to have a feature set that is a mile long, but Sans Digital took a no-frills approach and built this product with one goal in mind simple and reliable storage. For a user or business that is looking for a flexible storage option without any bells and whistles, this is a product worth taking a close look at. The user will have to provide the hard drives for this particular model but Sans Digital offers similar products that come bundled with drives already installed.

In addition to 10/100/1000 Ethernet there are also two USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA port, and firewire port for adding additional hard drives and expanding storage. With all these interfaces supported, the MN4L+ should find a home in just about any network.

    PRODUCT COMPOSITION

Sans Digital packages their products in sturdy boxes with thick foam blocks inside for protection. This greatly decreases the likelihood of anything being damaged in transit on the way to its destination.

In addition to the NAS you get a power adapter, utility CD, quick start manual, and keys to open the hard drive trays. Interestingly enough, no Ethernet, firewire or eSATA cable is included and oftentimes a product like this will come with at least one type of cable.
