Remember the days when you thought that double density 3.5" floppies were the greatest and you felt like you could fit the world onto one of these small storage discs. Seeing that today has brought about the era of more complex programs, larger working files, and cheaper technology, optical disc writing is only at it's infancy. In marches the slow one speed (1X) burners that marked the start of the optical writing trend. Since then, the market has been going through a similar speed race that the CPU manufacturers are going through as we speak. Currently as I write this review, I believe 48X is the maximum speed. But with the great speed increases, the burning times are starting to become so insignificant, that updating to the latest and greatest burner may only allow you to burn a full CD 1 minute faster. Is is worth it? Well, that's up to you.
The 32x burner from Samsung that I will be reviewing today is a GREAT all around burner for everyone. It is full of great features like buffer underrun protection, fast cd writing speeds, fast loading and unloading and comes with everything to get you making your favorite music cd's and/or backing up your data.
