PRODUCT WALKTHROUGH & PICTORIAL
Let's take a quick tour around this monitor to show you what to expect if you purchase this monitor.
Starting off at the base, the rotational mechanism allows for a full 180 degrees of movement in either direction with relative ease. Seeing the monitor is so light, spinning your monitor around to show a colleague your work or a funny youtube video won't be much of a task.
Although there is no rear swivel mechanism for landscape viewing, the monitor does tilt back about 15-20 degrees. But with a full 160 degrees of viewing angle in either horizontal or vertical viewing, monitor adjustments won't be needed in most cases.
Moving up from the bottom you have the monitor's front panel which is button free other than the touch sensitive power button on the right hand side. The one thing I have trouble with is seeing the faint red power indicator light which i wish was a little brighter in order to make sure you monitor is off in brighter illuminated rooms. But overall, a very minor issue.
Moving up to the panel itself, overall, it is not the brightest monitor I have tested, but in most cases, the other brighter monitors didn't need to have their settings reduced in order to make for a comfortable viewing experience. through six months of testing as my main work and gaming monitor, the last thing that came to my mind was that it needed to be brighter. In fact, I found it to be perfect for my viewing needs. No one needs to be staring and squinting at a overly bright display for eight hours a day.
With 300 cd/m2 worth of brightness and a dynamic contrast ratio of 20000:1 (1000:1 typical), there is plenty of vivid color and contrast pop to make anyone happy.
Rotating the monitor to see its side profile, you will note that the other all depth with stand is only 9 inches and the screen itself is only 2 3/4". For such a large monitor, the profile is thinner than some monitors I have tested that were over 5 inches smaller.
