So what do you get when you purchase this SMART Plasma TV from anywhere between US$2000-$2300? This is not meant to be an affordable 59 inch model and thus, has pretty well every bell and whistle included so paying a premium price is over a mainstream model is to be expected. It is good to note that this model overall is about US$200 less than Samsung's cheaper PN59D7000 series. For the difference in price, it is worth the upgrade.
When handling some large 55 inch LED models in the past, I was able to manage moving the box around on my own. But in the case of the PN59D8000, this isn't something you can man-handle into your house on your own. The TV is huge and relatively heavy and so is the box.
As always you will receive a manual along with a quick setup guide and warranty paperwork. But in addition you get a lint-free cleaning cloth for occasional dust removal.
Seeing this TV is just crying to be wall mounted, as previously mentioned, the stand does not come attached. Installation takes no more than 5-10 minutes. Just be careful not to scratch the TV during the install. Also included is the mounting hardware, two low profile video dongles along with a low profile power cord.
