PRODUCT WALKTHROUGH & PICTORIAL
Let's take a virtual walk around the TV to point out some of its external features.

Starting off at the base, the brushed aluminum lower surface is highlighted with a transparent stock that connects the monitor's rotational mechanism. Side to side movement is pretty generous and allows for around 20 degrees of movement from on either side without compromising the monitor's stability. Overall it is very well planted and its reduced weight when compared to previous Plasma TVs will reduce the top heavy nature of this TV.
As you move around to the side of this TV, you come face to face with the key feature of this particular plasma TV model. Measuring in at only 1.2 inches, the side profile can't get much thinner. In fact, it is almost comical.

Much like the UN55B8000 LED TV I reviewed in the past HERE, this model too is about 1.2 inches thick and has to be the thinnest plasma TV on the market. If you can find thinner, email me the model number so I can check it out. With a profile that is not much thicker than your thumb, the PN58B850's reduction in overall size makes it a much lighter plasma TV and makes it an easy TV to mount on a wall. Older heavy plasma TVs had a lot of people reinforcing their walls so it could take the weight whereas with this model, it will mount just like and equivalent LCD model.
