PRODUCT COMPOSITION

Just what do you receive if you put down US$299-$350 for the color laser printer.

for one, you will get this huge box which tips the scales at over 50lbs so please be careful and don't send the new skinny intern to go and fetch your new printer. The printer is brutally heavy and was even a challenge for me to handle on my own.

First out of the box is the paperwork which includes the usual warranty registration and setup instructions along with a power cable and the printer's software. One thing I see that is missing is any sort of data cables. Where are the USB and/or ethernet cables for this network capable printer? I know the cables are about a dollar each yet they weren't included? I have to say, this is a disappointment. There is no reason for them to be missing other than to save Samsung money. And with the small overall cost for the cables compared to how pleased the buyer is that they are included just makes pure financial sense. They just bought your expensive product, don't make them regret it over a couple bucks worth of cable.

Next out are the included standard use 2000 page cable toner cartridges. As you see above, you have one for black and the three color cartridges made up of yellow, magenta and cyan. Essentially, you are setup with toner for a while right out of the box. In the past you would get a sample cartridge that would get you going, but wouldn't last too long. Samsung made the right decision by supplying the buyer fully right from the start.

And after a large amount of effort and grunting, last out of the box is this rather large color laser printer. Now I know this printer is more targeted towards the business sector rather than the home computing environment, but if you have several children growing up and printing off several reports, papers and projects, you will be glad you bought a printer with a lot of capacity. in most cases, bigger is more cost effective in the long run even when with the higher initial purchase price.
