The front display again is very simple and has an interesting features that dims the display in lower light conditions so it won't be distracting during movie playback. It seems that Samsung has tried to pack every interesting feature into this player to make the price tag more realistic to the home theater enthusiast.
Moving around to the back of the player, as you will see there is no shortage of connections which makes this player remarkably flexible when integrating it into your existing setup. Also included is a ventilation fan which should be unobstructed. Do not insert this into a closed entertainment system rack and expect it to work properly. This player will need air flow so take care in making sure it has a supply of fresh air for proper ventilation. Failure to do so can and will lead to overheating and potential failure.
The connection panel is complete and easy to understand. Moving from left to right, you have the analog surround sound, the standard composite audio/video, the component video and the HDMI connections. In the far right is the digital coaxial and optical sound connection for receivers with an integrated decoder. If it is at all possible,. take advantage of the digital sound, the quality and immersion is awe-inspiring.
