Starting with the front panel, as said earlier, there is nothing really to point out other than the center mounted blue front display which shows all relevant information such as the operation, the current movie playback time and the integrated touch sensitive controls. In addition, there is an integrated USB drive jack to allow you to listen to music, watch videos and look at photos at your leisure. Also, it is a handy port to upgrade the player's firmware when an update comes available. Remember to check often. The updates in most cases only make your player better. If you would rather not use a USB storage solution for this task, you can also upgrade via a compact disc or through WIFI directly from the Samsung servers. The WIFI option is the one I have used for several years without one single issue.
Other than than, there is nothing else to cover until we reach the back where you will see a hard wired power cable and the main audio/video connection panel.
To cut costs, the connections are targeted towards what most consumers will need. You have your optical audio, hardware LAN port, HDMI along with your component video and composite audio. If you need analog 7.1 inputs, you will have to upgrade to a more expensive model. But as I have said earlier, 90% of consumers will be absolutely fine with what is provided.
