PRODUCT COMPOSITION

For around US$330 to US$350 you can pick this monitor up if you do some online shopping. Pricegrabber has a good option to compare prices by checking out the link at the top of this page.

Starting off you have the usual setup guides and warranty paperwork along with a software/driver CD. Also included with the 971P for the first time is a cloth which you wet and use to clean the polished outer monitor cabinet. This will keep you from scratching the near-mirror surface.

Seeing this is a digital only monitor, you only have the ability to hook a DVI cable to the monitor's signal connection. This can be accomplished by using the provided standard DVI cable from your DVI connection on your videocard, or if you have an older analog videocard, Samsung has provided a DVI to Analog converter cable. This is a very good way for Samsung to cover all their bases and stop potential product returns seeing the customer doesn't always have a DVI capable computer. A $2 cable saves them the cost of eating the cost of an opened product which in most cases can't be resold.

To save on monitor bulk and heft, the power supply is completely external. This also keeps the heat created by the power supply from affecting and/or potential damaging the monitor as well.

Last you have the monitor which I will discuss on the next page.
