PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS & FEATURES (From Samsung)
The 245T 24” widescreen monitor affords you the ability to be efficient and perform at an optimal level. It is also stylish and feature rich. Starting with it's glossy body style which can be desk or wall mounted and continuing with its ability to have multiple screens visible at one time. With its 6ms response time, clear and vivid images and multi connection capability you are in a position to accomplish all that you need and more.
For a rather sharp price of around US$650, which is quite a premium price for this monitor seeing it has just been released, you will receive the following.
First as always is the usual setup, warranty and installation instruction complete with a driver CD. Make sure you install the proper drivers for this monitor and do not just rely on the Windows plug and play monitor driver to do the job properly. Getting lazy will cost you some viewing enjoyment. Also included is a cloth for keeping the 245T's finger print magnet glossy finish in perfect condition.
Next out is the included cables needed to make the proper connections with the monitor. From left to right you have the DVI and analog VGA cable along with a USB cable and monitor wall power cord. At first you will wonder why a monitor needs a USB cable and no, this monitor does not utilize the USB for video signal, but it does allow you to use the onboard USB hub which is integrated into the monitor as well. But more on that later in better detail.
Last out is the box is the monitor. All that is needed to put this monitor together is to take the base, monitor, slip it into the base and tighten a thumbscrew to attach them together. Very simple, yet very secure.
The first thing I noted about this monitor is that is has a bit more heft when compared to other monitors I have reviewed in the past. I know there is a small size difference, but this increase in overall mass is more than what you would see when you increase the size a couple of inches. This monitor to say the least is a little more bulky, but nothing I would deem alarming. It is still a large monitor and thinking that it should only be an inch deep is a little unrealistic.
