SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER 2263UW INTRODUCTION

All-in-one products are becoming more and more popular because today's consumers want the most functionality for their dollar. A good example of this other than the monitor being reviewed today would be the cellphone market for comparative purposes. The days of a phone just being something you make calls on are well in the past and now you have phones that are essentially mobile computers which can take great photos, shoot quality video, surf the web, text message, GPS locate, play videos etc.

The monitor industry is slowing starting to evolve while following the same premise. Most consumers like a nice tidy desk with as little to no clutter as possible so what if you could get rid of your desktop speakers, webcam, microphone and USB hub and cram that all into a 22inch monitor? Wouldn't that just make perfect sense for the standard everyday family computer? But with past monitor multifunction products, there is always a catch. Sure it has all the functionality you need, but the monitor can't be used for gaming because of a slow response time or the picture quality, contrast and/or brightness is just sub-par when compared to an equivalent standard monitor. Thankfully, that is something that doesn't occur anymore.

Today I will be reviewing Samsung 2263UW monitor which boasts all of the functionality mentioned earlier plus it has none of the drawbacks seen when reviewing past models. This monitor has been tested for over 4 months now and i will walk you through what I like, and if warranted, what I don't like. Turn the page and let's get this review on the road.

What can TFT LCD Technology do for me?

Below is just a small list of what TFT LCD technology can do for your small business or home environment.

1.) Radiation - TFT LCD technology virtually eliminates radiation which is emitted from normal CRT monitor and can promote a healthier computing environment for your children at home and/or your work environment.

2.) Low Power Consumption - LCD monitors have a power consumption of about half of the equivalent CRT monitors.

3.) Colour - Colours on LCD's are much more vibrant that CRT monitors.

4.) Physical Size - One of the main advantages is the size difference. LCD monitors cover about 30% of the desk area than a standard CRT.

5.) Viewable Area - Now here is the kicker, if you buy a 17" CRT monitor, it's safe to say that you will have an actual viewing area of about ~16". Now, when a TFT LCD is said to be 17", the viewable area IS 17", which is a far more honest approach to marketing.
