PRODUCT COMPOSITION
At this point in time, the 2243BW is being priced around the range of US$300 give or take ten bucks and is in a 22" monitor market that is getting more and more competitive by the day. Although the price is not unfair, it is within the premium end of the current market for this size of a monitor.
First out of the box as usual is your setup, warranty and registration paperwork along with the driver and software CD.
Other than the monitor itself, the included hardware is comprised of a power cord, along with an analog and digital video cable. To keep the packaging as small as possible, the monitor base is separate from the monitor and the monitor stand. All that needs to be done is to attach the base and screw in the fastening screw to keep the stand in place. It takes all of 30 seconds to put together.
And of course, last out is the monitor itself. The first thing i want to mention is that it doesn't have a gloss finish which I appreciate seeing the glossy finish was a pain to keep clean thanks to numerous finger smudges and the the shiny finishes knack for showing every single piece of dust it collects. The bezel's matte finish looks just as nice and in the long run is less of a pain to maintain. Other than that, the monitor's first impressions are pretty standard with no glaring differences seen after the initial assembly.
Let's take a closer look.
