PRODUCT PICTORIAL & WALKTHROUGH

Let's take a virtual walk around your potential new purchase.

Starting from the bottom and moving up, the 2233RZ uses a very simple and straight forward ball and socket type of monitor stand that allows for little movement other than approximately 20 degrees of tilt. There is no rotational mechanism and there is no swivel for landscape viewing. But from I have seen and heard from most users, they don't use those features 99% of the time so not worrying about them will lower the final purchase price. Why pay more for something you do not use. Will rotating your monitor from side to side make your gaming any better?

The bottom right portion of the bezel houses the power and control bottoms which have the following functionality.

Menu - Allows access to your configuration menu for changing your color, contrast and signal input configuration.

Navigation Up / Down Keys - Allows you to navigate through the menu and also enables the brightness and preset contrast controls when the menu command is not enabled.

Enter Key - Allows you to initialize changes.

MagicBright Key - *This key is explained in the upcoming paragraph.

Power - To power the monitor on and off.

*When you press the MagicBright button you will be able to change the display contrast and brightness to your liking. You can experiment to find out what works for you. I personally like a bright display so the Game setting is what I usually use on a MagicBright equipped monitor. But the 2233RZ has an additional characteristic. This monitor is equipped with an automatic contrast control called Dynamic Contrast. This feature which is located at the bottom of the list in the photo above, will automatically adjust the contrast to optimal levels. For example, when the screen becomes dark or overly bright, it will adjust the contrast accordingly without any input from the computer user. This works flawlessly and in my mind is one of the best additional features I have seen on a LCD monitor.

Moving around to the rear, there is little to point out other than the power and DVI cable connection. The monitor has excellent ventilation in the bottom and the top to allow for enough airflow to cool and backlight and extend the product's life span.

Overall, this is a VERY simple monitor where the meat and potatoes are within the product and not on the outside. So how is it as an actual monitor? The next page will have all the information you will need.
