CRESYN CS-HP500 FOLDING HI-FI HEADPHONES (01-06-2009)
With most new product introductions on the market, usually the first generation is a prototype which they then improve on and then release a better product after they have ironed out all the design bugs. But with Cresyn and their CS-HP500, they definitely buck that trend. With exceptional audio and build quality coupled with a foldable design and comfort, the CS-HP500 can easily be summed up as a safe buy for people needing a good set of foldable headphones that won't break the bank.

RAZER MORAY NOISE ISOLATING EARBUD HEADPHONES (01-06-2009)
The Moray didn't convince me to toss aside my set of over-the-ear headphones, but for laptop gamers or anyone who uses a portable music device this is a great step up in quality from the included ear buds. The best part is they carry a reasonable price tag.

RAZER PIRANHA GAMING HEADSET (08-22-2008)
Everyone that is a gamer knows that having the freedom to game whenever you want is severely limited to who you are living with or next to. Other than some special situations, both will actively object to you disemboweling your adversary with a gattlin gun at 3am in the morning with you 5.1 speaker system at gaming volume. Because of that simple problem, gamers rely on a good set of gaming headphones to span those times where our gaming audio is not appreciated by others.

CYBER SNIPA SONAR 5.1 USB SURROUND HEADSET (05-27-2008)
All in all, not a bad showing from Cyber Snipa, the Sonar 5.1s offer a reasonably priced solution with astounding bass and good surround sound. The headset is comfortable and has as many adjustments as you could possibly ask for, both physically for comfort and via software for the sound.

ZALMAN ZM-RS6F USB 5.1 SURROUND HEADPHONES / HEADSET (03-12-2008)
Despite a couple minor shortcomings, the ZM-RS6F remains a decent contender for those in the market for a set of surround sound headphones. The USB connector and sound card allow for a convenient setup especially for laptop gaming. The surround sound quality is good and after gaming with these, it will be difficult to go back to a pair of standard headphones.

ZALMAN ZM-DS4F DUAL SPEAKER HEADSET/HEADPHONES (02-27-2008)
I can definitely say these headphones would be a fine upgrade from a pair of earbuds included with mp3 players. They are light, durable, and music sounds crisp and clear no matter how loud the volume is. The fold up design allows for portability and the $30 US price tag won't break the bank either.

STEELSERIES SIBERIA NECKBAND GAMING HEADSET (01-08-2008)
With sound quality almost as good as professional studio headsets you really can't go wrong with the Siberia Neckband Headset. If you have a big head like me and comfort is a concern for you however, I would suggest you look for a more conventional headset design.

LOGITECH X-540 5.1 SURROUND COMPUTER SPEAKER SYSTEM (04-17-2007)
Logitech's X-540 5.1 speaker system has a lot to recommend it. The speakers sound great and the fit and finish is outstanding. Logitech has done a great job of packing some excellent performance into a small package that will fit nicely on and around most people's computer station. A rich feature set and several mounting options combine with dead-simple setup to give the consumer an excellent 5.1 PC speaker system at a very reasonable price.

LOGITECH NOISE CANCELING HEADPHONES (03-21-2007)
When compared to other headphones with a similar set of features, the Logitech set is a great value for a quality product. The ability to reduce unwanted background noise is a welcome feature for anyone who travels and the detachable audio cable make them convenient to use even when not listening to music. Clear, crisp sound along with a sturdy carrying case round out a product that I can highly recommend to anyone in the market for noise canceling headphones.

SAITEK A-100 MY SPKR IPOD PERSONAL STEREO SPEAKER SYSTEM (12-20-2006)
I always like a product that does what it says it will and does it well. Saitek has such a product in the A-100 My Spkr. This simple yet elegant device belts out the tunes with impressive clarity and the bass response is really amazing for its size. Small light and portable, the A-100 may find a large audience.

STEEL SERIES STEELSOUND 4H GAMING HEADSET (12-20-2006)
So, you want a 5H V2 but are a little short on cash? Then the 4H should be right up your alley. With all the same specifications as the 5H V2 the 4H is definitely a contender. However the poor quality cable prevents me from awarding the 4H with a Top Rank Award. Having a great headset is all well and good but its useless if you trip over the cable once and its dead.

STEEL SERIES STEELSOUND 3H PORTABLE GAMING HEADSET (12-12-2006)
Well, given the price of the 3H I don't think you could ask for a better headset. This is definitely a solid entry-level product from SteelSound. The sound quality is amazing and the build quality is good. Just listening to a few music tracks was enough for me to fall in love with these Headphones and trust me when I say that's no easy thing to achieve.

STEELSOUND 5H V2 PC GAMING HEADSET (08-11-2006)
Before I opened the box I was hoping that SteelSound fixed everything and released a product that is worth the money of our readership and I am happy that I can say that time has come. It might have taken three tries, but it certainly wasn't three strike, you're out.

M-AUDIO STUDIOPHILE LX4 2.1 SURROUND-SOUND STUDIO SPEAKER MONITOR SYSTEM (16-01-2006)
M-Audio set out to make an affordable, all-in-one sound solution for the home studio user, who also likes to watch movies. With the LX-4, I think they reached their goal. While not cheap ($350 MSRP for the 2.1 set, and an additional $200 for the surround expander kit), the sound they produce well makes up for the price.

STEEL SOUND 5H USB GAMING HEADSET (13-12-2005)
With the relative lack of sound quality and this set's incredibly high price, it would be a lie if I said you should buy them. For the price they want for this product, you could buy two or even three headsets from their competition and even have true 5.1 to boot. I am still shaking my head wondering why this product warrants this price tag.

ZALMAN ZM-RS6F 5.1 REAL SURROUND HEADPHONE/HEADSET (19-10-2005)
Zalman has been around for ages, and their sound quality is known to gamers all around the Globe. They don't have many sound products, but the ones they do are top of the line. Let's see how their Theatre 6 headphones do to tide my thirst of explosions at 4am in the morning.

TURTLE BEACH EAR FORCE HPA 5.1 SURROUND SOUND HEADPHONES (13-10-2005)
Here we have one product model from Turtle Beach's new line of high quality surround sound headphones, made specifically for PC usage be it DVDs, gaming or anything audio related. Now I have been known stickler for not settling for anything but the best when it comes to sound quality. Let's see if Turtle Beach can wet my very dry proverbial throat.

LOGITECH Z-5300 5.1 COMPUTER SPEAKER SYSTEM (08-08-2005)
After the pictures are taken and the product is tested, I was honestly trying to find something I could find as a considerable shortfall when considering this system. There just really isn't a reason not to pick this system up if the almighty Z-5500 is a little beyond your budget and power requirements. The system sounded great, everything was made perfectly and everything setup without an issue noted.

STEEL SOUND 5H COMPUTER GAMING HEADSET (04-08-2005)
Steelpad has made some quality products in the past, and I was excited to see what they could do to enhance the sound in a gamer's world. I was disappointed to say the least, by the lackluster sound quality that these headphones provide. I admit the thought was there, and the headphones are nicely designed, especially the microphone addition but design is not all there is.

M-AUDIO FIREWIRE 1814 18-IN/14-OUT AUDIO/MIDI INTERFACE (17-03-2005)
M-Audio calls the 1814 the flagship of their mobile interface line, and I have to agree. For recording, you couldn't find a better core unit to base your studio around. The overall sound quality matched the best units I've used in the past, and the sheer amount of flexible inputs and outputs means that you can easily take the 1814 on the road, and need little else..

ICEMAT SIBERIA COMPUTER GAMING HEADSET (14-03-2005)
The Icemat Siberia is a very good set of audio equipment for the everyday gaming enthusiast. I really don't have many bad things I can say about this product. Other than Icemat installing a few more air holes in the ear pieces to completely get rid of the sweating after prolonged periods of time, the volume controller also should be made slightly lighter....

EPOX BT-HS02 BLUETOOTH WIRELESS HEADSET (25-01-2005)
Overall, there is not much I can say in the negative department about the BT-HS02. Other than the lack of the computer installation literature in the box and the slightly bold aesthetics, the product did perform flawlessly when used with a computer.

EDIFIER R501 5.1 SIX CHANNEL SURROUND COMPUTER SPEAKER SYSTEM (19-01-2004)
I tested this system out on several things: gaming (Doom 3, of course), DVDs, Anime (sometimes are quite odd for sounds), MP3s, and CDs. I never heard a single glitch or distortion in the audio quality. For the US$100 you fork out for this system, you will get you money's worth.

PHILIPS PSC724 ULTIMATE EDGE SIX CHANNEL SOUNDCARD (06-01-2004)
I was skeptical about this sound card, as I believed that my onboard sound was actually not bad at all. For 69.99 though, this did so much more. The installation was a breeze, it auto-detected to override my onboard sound, the drivers were installed easily without any moving/searching for files.

LOGITECH Z-5500 5.1 DIGITAL 500WATT RMS SPEAKER SYSTEM (24-11-2004)
For around a US$275 investment you will never find a better sound solution on the market that will allow you to terrorize with such force that you will be hated for months. It's intimidating, it's ridiculously powerful, and it is capable of much more than the average user will ever subject it to.

LOGITECH PRECISION PC GAMING HEADSET (13-11-2004)
The workmanship is excellent and this product's construction is very solid. Also noted was that the price for this headset is excellent and you get all the features and sound quality seen in product over twice its' price. The microphone worked flawlessly, the speakers sounded great and the remote came in handy from time to time for some quick in game audio adjustments.

LOGITECH Z2200 THX CERTIFIED 2.1 SPEAKER SYSTEM (15-10-2004)
Testing this product interested me right from the first time I picked it up to move the product box to the office. The incredible heft of this two channel system speaks volumes for the thick robust construction and large powerful speaker magnets that make this product what it is. Everything about this system is oversized, powerful..

ALTEC LANSING AHS602 GAMING HEADSET WITH MICROPHONE (09-09-2004)
The headset being reviewed today brings other features to the gaming environment like a high quality microphone, a remote volume and mute capabilities along with simulated 3D audio Passive Noise reduction and surround sound.

ALTEC LANSING VS4121 2.1 COMPUTER SPEAKER SYSTEM (01-07-2004)
Today I will be reviewing Altec Lansing's recently released VS4121 computer speaker system. With full three way sound, excellent aesthetics and a decent price tag, you might want to stick around if you are in the market for a new stereo speaker system.

PHILIPS PSC805 AURILIUM USB 5.1 SURROUND SOUND CENTER (20-01-2004)
To boil it down, if you are new to computers, have a need for surround sound but are terrified to stick your hand into your computer, this might be an option. And for the enthusiasts, the Aurilium's sound quality is better than onboard sound and hey, you will have yet another curious doohicky to woo your friends.

MADDOG MULTIMEDIA ENTERTAINER 8 CHANNEL PCI SOUNDCARD (05-01-2004)
The Entertainer is a great soundcard with a good price, solid performance and extreme compatibility. You can plug every audio toy you have into this card and enjoy them all in heart-pounding 8 point surround sound. The Entertainer does everything a soundcard should do and more, which makes it an exceptional product that I would recommend to anyone who....

TERRATEC AUREON 7.1 SPACE SURROUND SOUNDCARD (17-11-2003)
Never before have I heard sounds as crisp as those produced by this card. Unlike the Muse 5.1 which had trouble dealing with assigning sounds to various speakers on occasion, the Aureon 7.1 expertly takes advantage of each point in a surround sound setup.

HERCULES GAMESURROUND MUSE 5.1 DVD SOUNDCARD(25-07-2003)
This has to be by far the best budget soundcard I've ever put my hands on. For $29.99 you can get full surround sound support for your PC, and the multimedia software to go with it. The software suite definitely helps this card as it provides users with everything they need to fully take advantage of the cards capabilities via PowerDVD and Hercules Media Station.

ALTEC LANSING XA3051 SURROUND SPEAKER SYSTEM(09-07-2003)
Although not a true 5.1 surround speaker system, it definitely has its advantages. For one, you don't need a 6 channel surround sound card to use this on your computer if you go and pick up an adapter, and this could save you a quite a bit of money.

M-Audio Revolution 7.1 PC Surround Sound Card (20-03-2003)
This would be an IDEAL sound card in a HomeTheater PC, or hooked up to a receiver. The card will minimize colouring the output and offers an affordable entry into the surround sound market. Currently, there are no 7.1 speaker systems on the market, but if sales of this card go well I would suggest that a 7.1 system will be appearing soon.

Logitech Z-640 5.1 Computer Speaker System (16-02-2003)
$100 for a 5.1 speaker system? Logitech seems to be able to supply the goods in style with their z-640 speaker system. The little brother of the THX certified 680 has some difficult shoes to fill but it succeeds quite successfully.

Altec Lansing 5100 5.1 Surround Sound PC Speaker System (01-02-2003)
Computer speakers of today have come a long way from the basic, tiny, 2 channel, tinny pieces of audio junk that the consumer was stuck with only a couple years ago. Those days are gone, and trust me, they will be gladly forgotten.

Altec Lansing 251 5.1 Surround Sound PC Speaker System (09-12-2002)
Bullets flying by your head or a blood-thirsty demon reaching out for you from behind. These PC gaming examples are what you will be missing when you game through a 2 speaker setup. What is the point of buying an expensive game and not taking full advantage of the sound. If you are in the market for a 5.1 speaker system or a soundcard upgrade, I will be reviewing the Altec Lansing 251 system.

Hercules XPS 510 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker System (31-08-2002)
Most computer users in some respect are all audiophiles. We love to hear good, crisp, clear music and audio from our computers. Even the stubborn consumers that have a crappy set of speakers and find them all right will upgrade them if they hear what PC music and gaming is supposed to sound like on a decent computer speaker system.

Altec Lansing 221 2.1 Amplified Speaker System (09-08-2002)
Beautiful crisp music whether classical or death metal, immersive gaming, good looks and POWER!! These were all characteristics of computing that I was missing until I was introduced to these compact, yet amazing sounding speakers. Upon the opening of the box, you will be introduced to a stylish set of speakers just like any other brand. But that is where the similarity ends.

Labtec PulseTM-420 Speaker System (06-05-2002)
The Labtec PulseTM-420 Speaker System surprised me for its small size. This little system is LOUD!!! And the bass is not that bad either. For one, a separate subwoofer volume control would be nice because sometimes, you need to cut out the bass entirely when you are working in the early hours of the morning and don't need to wake your significant other with bass kicks ...
