If you frequently stare at a monitor for hours on end while working or gaming, eyestrain is likely a common annoyance. Thankfully, you can treat your eyes to a bit of relief with the Soundscience Halo Bias Lighting kit. It installs on any monitor up to 24" and only requires a single USB port for power.

ASUS WL-330N3G 6-IN-1 WIRELESS-N TRAVEL ROUTER REVIEW (24-11-2011)
Leave it to Asus to create a router that can also act as a repeater, access point, Ethernet adapter, hotspot, and 3G sharing device. While that versatility is great on its own, add in the fact that this device will fit in your pocket and that makes it a truly exciting product for users on the go. The price of $69.99 for all of this is well worth it and Asus makes setup as easy as possible with their intuitive web interface.

ASUS RT-N12 SUPERSPEED-N ROUTER REVIEW (25-03-2011)
The Asus RT-N12 is a simple, affordable way to add a router to any SOHO network. For $40 it brings a lot to the table including a user-friendly interface, strong wireless coverage, router/AP/repeater mode switching, and the ability to create up to four SSID's. If you don't need dual-band access or USB ports, this router is a solid choice that can be up and running in no time.

ASUS RT-N56U ROUTER REVIEW (08-03-2011)
Asus' RT-N56U router has unique, elegant styling with an impressive feature set to go along with it. The slim, antenna-free design allows the unit to be tucked away just about anywhere, while the simultaneous dual-band connectivity is ready for the most demanding of home networks.

ASUS RT-N16 GIGABIT SUPERSPEED-N ROUTER REVIEW (17-01-2011)
For a sub-$100 router, the RT-N16 is an excellent choice for both beginners and enthusiasts alike. The UI is easy to work with and setting up secure wireless Internet access is a cinch even for those without advanced networking skills. For those who like to tinker, this router boasts some impressive hardware specs and supports third party firmware such as DD-WRT and Tomato.

ASUS RT-N13U WIRELESS-N INTERNET ROUTER REVIEW (23-09-2010)
Wireless connections are reliable and the range turned out to be better than I expected, and the interface has a fantastic layout with lots of features for the price.

NZXT INTERNAL USB EXPANSION MODULE MODEL IU01 REVIEW (31-08-2010)
Frankly, when I first looked at NZXT's IU01 internal USB module I was prepared to be underwhelmed. After putting it through its paces, I now see how wrong first impressions can be. The device performed as advertised and can really be a boon to users with insufficient USB port availability and/or power hungry USB devices.

HIYATEK HB-8700 VERTICAL 7 PORT USB 2.0 HUB (12-06-2009)
Overall, there isn't a whole lot I can say against purchasing this seven port hub. It performs exactly as intended and comes with everything you need to tidy the USB clutter on your desktop.

I-ROCKS IR-4610 FOUR PORT USB 2.0 HUB (08-06-2009)
With so many gadgets using USB these days, just about everyone can benefit from a product like this. It's an inexpensive, practical, and stylish way to add an extra four USB ports to any system. The top loading port is useful for quickly attaching a flash drive or mp3 player, and the remaining three ports are spaced far enough apart that plugging in devices next to each other shouldn't result in a tight squeeze.

SPIRE SP331CB COMBIPOD USB HUB/CARD READER (04-05-2009)
If you are in need of an external card reader/USB hub combo and don't want to spend a lot of money, Spire's CombiPod fits the bill perfectly. It is small, durable, compatible with just about any memory card, and best of all it works exactly as it should.

VIZO MASTER PANEL II (22-04-2009)
Vizo's Master Panel II takes many commonly used ports found on the back of a PC and provides additional access at the front, creating a convenient way to plug and unplug peripherals without having to fiddle with wires at the back. Not only that, it also includes a dual fan speed controller and memory card reader that is compatible with most of the typically used cards found in today's electronics.

QNAP NVR-1012 NETWORK SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM (21-01-2009)
Overall, this is an excellent showing from QNAP. In as little as one afternoon, it is possible to set up a network surveillance system that can be monitored from any computer with an internet connection. Versatility is also a strong suit - cameras can use a wired or wireless connection, recording can take place on any day and time you wish, and external drives can be attached for backup or to increase storage capacity.

CIRAGO HS-450 MINI BLUETOOTH CELL PHONE HEADSET (18-09-2008)
Given its size, I was very impressed by the call clarity on both ends (I even called my landline to listen for myself). Is it as good as $100 headsets? Not really, but it's a definite overachiever in the bargain entry, and one you should have a good hard look at if you are in the market for a new ‘set.

THERMALTAKE VI-ON ACTIVELY COOLED SATA/USB2.0 EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE ENCLOSURE (04-09-2008)
The Vi-On does exactly what an external enclosure should do – provide a cool and secure housing for that spare HDD you may have lying around. Installation takes only a few minutes and is simply a matter of snapping in the drive and then plugging it in to your PC. Both USB and a high speed eSATA interface are supported to make transferring files of all sizes a quick and easy process. For those times when portability is needed and the limited storage of a flash drive isn't enough, the Vi-On paired with a SATA HDD is a handy alternative.

MERCONNET MP3 PLAYER / FM MODULATOR (14-08-2008)
Realistically, for US$30, could you really expect more from one single product. For a small tidy sum of money, you finally will be able to play your favorite tracks in your car instead of having to spend hundreds installing a new MP3 capable deck.

CIRAGO MICRO USB BLUETOOTH ADAPTER (28-04-2008)
This USB Bluetooth adapter from Cirago may be one of the tiniest currently on the market, but it performed admirably and exceeded my expectations. Even with the devices in different rooms I had zero connection problems between the adapter and my cell phone. The presence of other 2.4 GHz wireless signals in the house didn't cause any interference either. For a mere $25, you can't go wrong.

ULTRA 7-PORT DUAL COMPUTER USB2.0 HUB (09-03-2008)
Whether you like it or not, if you are big into the use of external peripherals, you will sooner or later being taking a hard look at a USB hub in your future. There will never be enough USB connections on your motherboard and realistically, who wants to have a rats nest of USB cable running to and from the front and rear of your computer when with one neat connection you can have seven components connected with no problems.

SOUNDGRAPH MONEUAL LABS IMON ULTRA BAY WITH REMOTE CONTROL (06-11-2007)
With the release of the iMON Ultra Bay, SoundGraph has really upped the ante when it comes to media functionality for the PC. This product really can turn your PC into a HTPC while adding a bit of style and visual interest. I was very impressed with the software and remote, and the Ultra Bay will look right at home in most any black or silver case. The blue display is both attractive and functional, with a wide array of custom settings that users can tweak to their own tastes.

KINGWIN Z1 HARD DRIVE ENCLOSURE (18-10-2007)
Kingwin has a solid performer in the Z1. Ease of use, good looks, and choice of colors adds up to a winning combination. I had no problems installing a drive, and it was immediately recognized by Windows. Driverless installation makes things easy (except for you Windows 98 users…….c’mon, upgrade to XP at least, you luddites!).

ZEROTHERM ZT-100 HIGH PERFORMANCE THERMAL GREASE (22-08-2007)
ZEROtherm has a great product in its ZT-100 thermal grease. It performs on par with the best in its class and is easy to apply. It’s also available for sale now and competitively priced at around $6 for the 3.5g package. The included finger cot applicator is re-useable and widely available should the user need additional units.

Q3 INNOVATIONS UV HAWK PERSONAL ULTRAVIOLET SUNLIGHT METER (24-07-2007)
Although I have never used a product like this before, it definitely is a tool I will use in my life from now on. This product takes the guess work out of protecting yourself from getting a burn and damaging your skin. With this tool in hand, precise measurements can be obtained to use in your daily recreational planning and what you need to do to protect yourself, or your family from the sun.

LOGITECH CORDLESS SKYPE INTERNET HANDSET (13-07-2007)
For those who frequently use Skype, I can't see a reason not to buy the Logitech Cordless Internet Handset. The menus are easy to navigate through and the phone is easily synced with a Skype contact list, so all that is required to make calls is a PC with Skype running. The phone can do the rest. Call quality is great and installation is as simple as it gets..

ANTEC MX-1 ACTIVELY COOLED EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE ENCLOSURE (18-06-2007)
The build quality is outstanding, the active cooling is both effective and quiet and the eSATA performance is excellent. Installation is very straightforward and easily accomplished due to the screw and latch design and the MX-1 has a great look with simple, elegant lines and the blue LED tucked away beneath the Antec logo on the front. USB 2.0 connectivity is also provided and cable lengths are generous.

CYBER SNIPA SCOUT WEBCAM (21-05-2007)
For $20, the Scout webcam is worth the purchase. It takes good still shots, decent video, and has a built in microphone. Its small size makes it ultra portable and I would have liked to see Cyber Snipa include a carrying case. It stays put when clipped onto an LCD monitor but can also stand on its own. For basic webcam functions it works great.

CYBER SNIPA SPOTTER USB WEBCAM (15-01-2007)
While not the most compact webcam available, the Cyber Snipa Spotter takes pretty nice photos and video and is a good value for anyone who frequently uses Skype, Netmeeting, or any other application that warrants using a webcam. Like other Cyber Snipa products this is not a typical looking PC peripheral but to me that's a plus. Different can be fun as long as the product still performs well and the Spotter accomplishes both.

LOGITECH QUICKCAM FUSION WEBCAM (17-10-2006)
Well, I can't say Logitech has convinced me to become a webcam junkie, but I am very impressed with how far the webcam has come. For those who teleconference from home or on the road, the image quality is top-notch, the built-in mic works very well, and the addition of a basic, yet functional headset makes for a compelling product.

Q3 INNOVATIONS ALCOHAWK SLIM PERSONAL BREATH ALCOHOL ANALYZER (18-07-2006)
Overall, I'm favorably impressed with the AlcoHawk Slim. Not only did it run neck-and-neck with the current police tester, it proved to me that, even though I didn't feel “drunk”, I was obviously over the limits allowed by law, and at a potential risk for an accident. This in itself is worth its weight in gold, and makes the AlcoHawk Slim worth the relatively low asking price.

ATI TV WONDER ELITE (07-07-2005)
The TV Wonder Elite encompasses everything an everyday consumer would need in a computer based TV solution. It is packed full of useful media viewing and recording options, has complete hardware based encoding and decoding, comes with its own RF remote control, is extremely simple to install and setup and is a good value for the money.

ATI TV WONDER USB 2.0 (27-05-2005)
As I said earlier, for the money and the software included, if you are in the market to turn your computer into a handy TV with A/V functionality and don't have the ability to use a PCI version, you really can't go wrong with this product.

HIGHPOINT ROCKETHEAD100 SATA CONVERTOR/ACRYAN EL SATA CABLE (22-10-03)
I stated earlier that I really did not have very high expectations for the HighPoint RocketHead 100, however I am glad to say that I was wrong. Still, the device has limited use. Most people will still have available parallel connectors on their motherboard, or will opt for purely SATA HDDs.

ATI TV WONDER VE REMOTE CONTROL EDITION (22-08-2003)
Having a product that is cheap and so easy to install, the ATI TV Wonder Remote Control Edition is by far a great buy. For ~US$75, you can compliment your videocard with a whole multimedia suite that is simple to use and proven to work flawlessly. As I have said before, once you have TV on your computer, you will never be without it again.

LinkSys BEFSR81 Cable/DSL Router (25-05-2002)
I think it's a well built piece of machinery. It's quiet (no sound at all) and small when compared to having a full linux-box router and I love the way the webbased configuration works. Small dislike would be that you really NEED the manual to understand every freaking option it has and to discover that the firewall software and virusscanner aren't free All in all still a good buy.
