BUYING A NEW COMPUTER TODAY: FORCE FED TECHNOLOGY THAT THE AVERAGE CONSUMER DOESN'T NEED (13-05-2008)
To help me convince you that this is also true for the computer hardware industry, tell me if you have heard of anyone saying, “Man I just bought this computer 6 months ago and it is now obsolete!”. But who dictates that a computer is obsolete? Just because Rev.B of your motherboard came out, or the latest processor is 200Mhz faster than yours doesn't mean your computer is obsolete. If it accomplishes the tasks you need, it is only obsolete when it won't do a specific task for you, and nothing less.

CES 2007 DAY 4 COVERAGE (11-01-2006)
Day 4 is here and it is the last day of the 2007 CES. Joe and I both admit that our first year covering CES has been a big learning experience. But as with new things, they are always rough and many lessons are learned. Lesson #1, to hell with fashion, I am getting a much more comfortable shoes for next year.

CES 2007 DAY 3 COVERAGE (10-01-2006)
Although we were tired and our feet still sore from the show floor, we forced ourselves back into the consumer hurricane here at CES 2007 in Las Vegas. Today as you will see was a very productive day with lots of contacts made and a lot of booths visited.

CES 2007 DAY 2 COVERAGE (09-01-2006)
Day 2 started rather slowly seeing we had to spend the morning writing and arranging the content for Day 1. We tried to write the night of the first day, but we were out until close to 1am and were absolutely tired. As we sat yawning at each other across the work table, we decided that if we wrote anything now it would be absolute garbage and wouldn't represent what we truly accomplished during our introduction to the CES madness.

CES 2007 DAY 1 COVERAGE (08-01-2007)
First and formost, we at Tweaknews love anything to do with the latest technology coming onto the consumer market. CES essentially drops you directly into one of the highest concentrations of consumer technology in the world and some, if not most of the important product launches are done here.

THE COMPUTER INDUSTRY'S WHIPPING BOY: THE LOWLY COMPUTER TECHNICIAN (24-11-2006)
PC support companies build their business on the backs of high school and college graduates, the people who get a job just to get by until something better comes along. These people are called hardware technicians; they bare huge responsibility and work for low pay, often for little better than minimum wage.

ONLINE INTERNET SECURITY: WHEN TO DRAW THE LINE AGAINST INTERNET PARANOIA (25-09-2006)
If you surf and compute normally and safely, you will not have a problem that can't be handled efficiently through a running antivirus (such as a virus email attachment). Running three firewalls is essentially meaningless. Hackers don't care about a user checking their email so building a performance hogging virtual internet barricade is not needed and a waste of system resources and your time.

IS PC GAMING GETTING MORE AND MORE BORING? (30-08-2006)
To quote something I agree with “The stagnation of the game industry is dependant on the point of view of the individual”. A good point, no game can satisfy the entire demographic just the same way as even the best movies are not enjoyed by everyone.
