THERMALTAKE DR. POWER II ATX POWER SUPPLY TESTER REVIEW (31-01-2012)
Thermaltake's Dr. Power II works as advertised, is relatively accurate and has an easily used and intuitive interface. Two testing modes allow the user to make a quick pass or zero in on a suspect connector or rail. It's compact, lightweight and the large LCD screen is easy to read.

ZALMAN ZM-PCM1 AND ZM-VPM1 CPU AND VGA POWER CONSUMPTION METERS REVIEW (27-01-2011)
All-in-all, Zalman has targeted a relatively limited niche of PC enthusiasts with these products. If you're the kind of user who demands the kind of information that these devices can provide, I'm unaware of any other options that are this easily installed. They are also well executed and attractive additions to the front panel that work as advertised. Just be aware of their limitations.

Cooler Master's GX 750W has proven itself to be a very capable power supply. With impressive stability, quiet operation, compact design with plenty of connectors and sleeved cabling, this PSU brings a lot to the table and does so with a fairly modest price tag.

COOLER MASTER SNA 95 SLIM NOTEBOOK UNIVERSAL POWER ADAPTER (29-06-2009)
The idea of a single adapter to charge and power your laptop and all your other mobile devices is very appealing and would be especially desirable by business travelers who depend on these devices for their livelihood. Cooler Master's release of the SNA 95 has garnered more than a little attention around the web and I was excited to get one for evaluation. However, after using the thing for a week or so, I'm a bit underwhelmed.

THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER XT W0229RU 750W MODULAR POWER SUPPLY (27-05-2009)
At around $200, the XT is at the very top of its class, both in features and cost. While the XT has great specs, a generous and innovative feature set and outstanding components and efficiency, 200 bones still seems a bit excessive for a 750W PSU these days. Don't get me wrong, this is an excellent power supply and the five-tear warranty sweetens the deal a bit, but the high cost almost kept it off the Top Rank list.

ANTEC SIGNATURE 650 WATT POWER SUPPLY (08-04-2009)
Antec has scored a major coup with their Signature Series 650W power supply. Its efficiency, features and warranty are at the very top of its class and the hybrid modularity and easily identifiable rail distribution are welcome additions to an outstanding product. The subtle good looks belie the clever design features, both internal and external, that set this unit apart from the crowd.

HIPER TYPE R MKII 680W ATX POWER SUPPLY (02-03-2009)
Hiper's new TYPE R MKII 680W ATX power supply brings a lot to the table, and it's all good. With excellent performance, quiet operation, and a very innovative feature set, this PSU could easily find a home in all but the most demanding systems.

COOLER MASTER SILENT PRO M 600W MODULAR ATX POWER SUPPLY (28-01-2009)
I'm very impressed with Cooler Master's Silent Pro M600W. Here's a quiet, compact, high-quality PSU with flat modular cabling, high efficiency and a five-year warranty from an established company. Cooler Master also includes silicone vibration gaskets and black mounting screws.

FSP GROUP BOOSTER X5 450 WATT DEDICATED VIDEOCARD POWER SUPPLY (22-01-2009)
I can definitely see the niche that this product sets out to fill, and it does a good job of filling it. Available from the FSP website for less than $80 US, this is a great value for the enthusiast needing more graphics power but unable or unwilling to spring for a new power supply.

COOLER MASTER ULTIMATE CIRCUIT PROTECTION UCP-900WATT POWER SUPPLY (07-10-2008)
Cooler Master's UCP 900W has performed admirably throughout several days of testing while having an attractive aesthetic finish to complete the overall product. It's quiet and stable with plenty of power, has nicely sleeved cables while providing plenty of well organized SATA and videocard connections.

THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER 1200W CABLE MANAGEMENT POWER SUPPLY (25-07-2008)
With best-of-class specs and a generous feature set with configuration options, the Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W is tough to beat. The Toughpower line represents Thermaltake's flagship PSU offerings, and the 1200W is a worthy addition, building on a tradition of power, stability and cutting edge features. The fit and finish is flawless, the connectors are numerous and the cable lengths are generous.

IN WIN COMMANDER 1200W MODULAR POWER SUPPLY (17-06-2008)
In-Win is surely going to turn some heads with the Commander – not only does it have a one of a kind look, it has demonstrated excellent stability and its four +12V rails are ready to power up any hardware thrown its way. I can see this being not only a good choice for today's gaming rigs, but it should easily last through another upgrade or two as well. Realistically, not many current systems out there are going to pull 1200W of power but in a few years this might be exactly what's needed.

ULTRA X3 800WATT MODULAR POWER SUPPLY (14-05-2008)
Testing yielded stable voltages, quiet operation and I won't have to worry about buying a new power supply when the time comes to upgrade my system. The flat, flexible modular cabling system was great to work with and has spoiled me completely. I can't imagine going back to regular cables, much less a non-modular design.

VL SYSTEM M-PLAY BLAST LCD CASE DISPLAY AND REMOTE CONTROL (07-05-2008)
I always enjoy being surprised by a product and the M-Play Blast was one such device. Not only did it exceed my expectations, it thoroughly impressed me. If you are looking for a remote setup for your media center and want something that looks at home with your VCR and other entertainment systems then the retro look of the M-play Blast should be right up your alley.

COOLER MASTER REAL POWER PRO 850 WATT POWER SUPPLY (06-05-2008)
Coolermaster caters directly to the most demanding of systems with this 850W PSU. With six +12V rails and six PCI-e connectors, it provides plenty of power for high end rigs and leaves ample room for future upgradeability. There are more than enough SATA and Molex connectors for drives and fans and the cables are long enough to be used in a full tower case.

THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER Q-FAN W0163RU 650WATT MODULAR POWER SUPPLY (22-01-2008)
With four independent 12V rails providing stable power, it is a fine choice for an overclocked rig. The 140mm Qfan does it job as well with its nearly silent operation even when under heavy load. In fact, this is the quietest PSU I've worked with that wasn't fanless.

X-SPICE CROON 750WATT POWER SUPPLY (28-11-2007)
This is the first product I have reviewed from X Spice and I must say that it has made me look forward to receiving further product samples from them. The Croon BF 700 is solidly built and performs well.

COOLMAX CUQ-1200B GREEN POWER 1200 WATT ATX POWER SUPPLY (22-10-2007)
Coolmax seems to have a very good product in its latest power supply offering. The CUQ-1200B has impressive specifications, lots of connectors on superbly sleeved cables, modular design, and top-notch efficiency. The fit and finish is excellent and the attention to detail, from the packaging to the visual aspects and manual, is impressive.

KINGWIN MACH 1 ABT-800MA1S 800 WATT MODULAR POWER SUPPLY (11-09-2007)
Kingwin has a very solid performer here. Modular cabling, near silent running, and solid voltages all make for a winning combination. I liked the attention to detail, which is rare in the PSU market at this price point. The finish is flawless, the modular cabling is solid, without that sloppy feeling plastic connectors can give.

ULTRA X3 600WATT MODULAR POWER SUPPLY (04-09-2007)
Its fully modular design and FlexForce cabling system are very unique and will be a boon to users who like to have neat, tidy installs. The cable assortment is complete and provides the user with plenty of connectors supporting a wide variety of configurations. The X3 is relatively compact, very stable and efficient. This should be more than enough PSU for the vast majority of users.

COOLER MASTER REAL POWER 750 WATT POWER SUPPLY (11-07-2007)
Cooler Master's Real Power Pro 750W has performed admirably throughout several days of testing. And it looks good doing it. I like the finish a lot, but there is some very good performance to compliment it. It's quiet, stable and compact with plenty of power and nice sleeving. This seems to be a quality unit that should support all but the most power-hungry systems.

THERMALTAKE PUREPOWER RX 600WATT MODULAR ACTIVE PFC POWER SUPPLY (27-06-2007)
Thermaltake's Purepower RX 600W has proven to be a very capable PSU. With impressive stability, quiet operation, modular design with plenty of connectors and sleeved cabling, the RX 600W brings a lot to the table and does so with a fairly modest price tag. Available at several online retailers for around $120 US, I would consider this PSU to be a very good value for the enthusiast who doesn't need to power a couple of 8800 Ultra video cards.

ULTRA X3 1000WATT SLI READY MODULAR POWER SUPPLY (20-06-2007)
The Ultra X3 proves itself to be a tough product to beat. Modular cabling ensures that you only use the cables you need, and the FlexForce design allows for easy cable routing and improved airflow. The fit and finish is excellent, lending a classy look to the PSU. Voltages remained steady under the harshest testing I could come up with, and to top it off, it performed in relative silence. Add to this Ultra's lifetime warranty, and you have a definite winner.

NEXUS NX-8060 80PLUS MODULAR SILENT 600WATT POWER SUPPLY (10-05-2007)
I have planned and built systems ranging from media centers all the way through to highly advanced application specific servers and in so doing have come into contact with more different types and brands of PSU you than you can shake a stick at. The NX-8060 is one of the best PSUs in its class that I have had the pleasure of using. The price tag is not through the roof for this specification PSU and the performance is excellent.

THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER 1000W CABLE MANAGEMENT POWER SUPPLY (26-04-2007)
The Toughpower 1000W from Thermaltake is a real monster! And I mean that in a good way. With best-of-class specs and a generous feature set with configuration options and some future proofing, this baby is tough to beat. The Toughpower line represents Thermaltake's flagship PSU offerings, and the 1000W is a worthy addition, building on a tradition of power, stability and cutting edge features.

ULTRA X-PRO 600W ATX POWER SUPPLY (03-04-2007)
There's little bad I can say about the XPro 600. For a media center PC, it would be an ideal choice, both in its power and size, and in its relative silence. Plenty of connectors for legacy devices is a nice touch, and one that I would like to see other PSU makers implement. Stable voltages make for a great performer, and the glossy housing will look good in any windowed case.

ULTRA X-PRO 800W ATX POWER SUPPLY (26-03-2007)
So how did the Ultra XPro 800 do? Price-wise, it's not cheap at $200, but not too expensive either. Performance is good, even with the 12v rails running on the high side. Connectivity is excellent, with plenty of legacy connectors. And, the brushed case looks good, giving the XPro the look of higher-end units. Ultra's AST technology is also a neat tool, and does its' job well.

XCLIO STABLEPOWER 850 WATT POWER SUPPLY (07-03-2007)
During my battery of tests, Xclio's Stablepower 850W PSU lived up to its name. They could also legitimately call it the “Silentpower,” as it performed its duties without a whisper of noise. (That name is already taken, but I couldn't help myself.) The Stablepower 850W has both stability and silence, as well as features like active PFC, 80% efficiency and a two-year warranty.

OCZ TECHNOLOGY PROXSTREAM 1000WATT POWER SUPPLY (21-02-2007)
OCZ has a solid performer here. Plenty of solid, stable power will satisfy even the most hardware-laden system, while the quad SLI connectors are a welcome addition for a top-level rig. Add in sleeved cables, a casing no bigger than a lower wattage PSU, and a good price point for the power, and you've got a definite winner in the PSU battles.

XCLIO STABLE POWER 460 WATT POWER SUPPLY (06-02-2007)
During my battery of tests, Xclio's Stablepower 460W PSU lived up to its name. They could also legitimately call it the “Silentpower,” as it performed its duties without a whisper of noise. This PSU is available at several online retailers for around $60 US, making it a very good value.

OCZ GAMEXSTREAM 850 WATT POWER SUPPLY (28-12-2006)
OCZ's GameXStream 850W power supply packs a lot of power and stability into a compact package that will make a lot of gamers and other power users very happy. Their three-year PowerSwap warranty program makes the package even more attractive. The handsome satin finish, sleeving and blue LED fan give the OCZ850GXS a very definite eye appeal and the performance is outstanding.

THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER 850W MODULAR CABLE MANAGEMENT POWER SUPPLY (11-12-2006)
With the Toughpower 850W PSU, Thermaltake is targeting the very top of the enthusiast/gamer market. Four very strong +12V rails and native support for four graphics cards and eight SATA drives is certainly not the norm and will almost surely be embraced by its eager, albeit small, target market.

ZALMAN ZM600-HP HEATPIPE COOLED MODULAR 600 WATT POWER SUPPLY (23-11-2006)
The ZM600-HP seems to deliver the goods everywhere one looks. The heatpipe feature keeps it running cool and the LEDs keep it looking cool. This PSU has enough power to supply all but the most extreme systems with ease. Outstanding stability and efficiency are complimented by near-silent operation and a pleasing blue glow.

ANTEC TRUEPOWER TRIO 650 WATT POWER SUPPLY (26-10-2006)
Antec has once again proven that glossy finishes and modular cables isn't all to making a great power supply. Despite lacking some glamour, the TruePower Trio hits where it counts- stability, flexibility, and rock-solid performance. Given the Trio's relatively low cost, the bang for the buck cannot be denied.

THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER W0116RU CABLE MANAGEMENT 750W POWER SUPPLY (19-10-2006)
Thermaltake has another winner with the Toughpower 750W. This PSU should prove to be a worthy addition to the very competent Toughpower line. The stability was impressive and the modular cables not only performed admirably, but look very good in their sleeving. Outstanding stability and a rich feature set like this, however, doesn't come cheap.

ISTARUSA TC-750PD2 750 WATT COMPUTER POWER SUPPLY (13-06-2006)
If the iStar TC-750PD2 were our lumberjacks' buffet, there would definitely be some grumbling. While power is plentiful, it comes at the cost of a very noisy PSU. Another hard knock against the unit is the claimed 20/24 pin compatibility, which does not exist. You get your mashed potatoes, but gravy costs extra.

THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER 550WATT COMPUTER POWER SUPPLY (05-06-2006)
Thermaltake has a real winner in the Toughpower 550W. This is just the first entry in the Toughpower series, and it's impressive. But, if 550 watts isn't enough for you, there are Toughpowers in the works with up to 750 watts and modular cables will be available on selected models. Outstanding stability like this, however, doesn't come cheap.

COOLER MASTER IGREEN 430WATT COMPUTER POWER SUPPLY (22-05-2006)
Overall, Cooler Master has a solid product here. While it is not suitable for high-end extreme gaming systems full of every peripheral imaginable, the efficiency and relative silence makes it ideal for a moderately built DAW or HTPC. There are higher wattage iGreen power supplies available in 500 and 600 watts.

THERMALTAKE PUREPOWER 600WATT POWER SUPPLY (03-04-2006)
During my tenure here at Tweaknews, I've had the privilege to use and review more than a few high-end (and high-cost) power supplies. None of them have impressed me as much as the new Purepower 600W from Thermaltake. Granted, I haven't looked at every PSU on the market, but after putting the 600W through its paces, I'd have to say that I can recommend it highly for its performance, features, appearance and price point.

ANTEC TRUECONTROL 2.0 550WATT POWER SUPPLY (12-19-2005)
There are many very good power supplies on the market these days, and the Antec TrueControl 2.0 550W has proven to be one of the best. At this price point, you’re going to be hard-pressed to find a better one with adjustable rails and this kind of stability.

ZALMAN ZM460-APS ULTRA QUIET 460WATT POWER SUPPLY (11-30-2005)
The Zalman ZM460 is not the prettiest PSU I've ever seen. It has no fancy gizmos or modular design. What it does have, however, is performance. I've had a wide variety of power supplies come through here and I can't honestly say that any of them have performed better than the ZN460. I know for a fact that I've never had a PSU that was this quiet.

ENERMAX LIBERTY 400W MODULAR POWER SUPPLY (11-29-2005)
Where PSUs have failed me in the past, the Enermax Liberty 400W PSU was a much needed solution. It looks fantastic, works fantastic, and best of all - its modular. Seeing as this is a development still being developed, the Liberty definitely took a step up even from my expectations. Seeing as many people, myself included, consider the power supply as the lifesource of the computer, its important to feel confident in the power supply you purchase.

OCZ POWERSTREAM 520WATT ATX COMPUTER POWER SUPPLY (11-11-2005)
To be completely realistic, this in my mind is pretty well as close to a perfect power supply as you can get. It looks great, the build quality is absolutely immaculate and the aesthetics are surprisingly good for "just a power supply". When you also kick in the fact that it has three adjustable voltage nails and rock steady power production and you have a no brainer for your next power supply purchase.

SINTEK 500 WATT PREMIUM SLI READY COMPUTER POWER SUPPLY (20-09-2005)
Well, there you have it. It certainly appears that SinTek has brought a real winner to the PSU market. The 500 SLI has great looks, a superior feature set and, most importantly, outstanding stability. I've tested a number of power supplies, and I haven't seen one yet that was more stable than this SinTek offering.

THERMALTAKE PUREPOWER TWV 500W ATX 2.0 MODULAR POWER SUPPLY (25-05-2005)
Thermaltake has done a good job with their first entry into the modular power supply market. The TWV 500W sells for around $130US, putting it at the high end of the spectrum, price wise. The inclusion of a case fan and the TWV module offsets the high price somewhat, if the prospective buyer finds these features desirable.

THERMALTAKE HARDCANO 13 A2259 MULTIFUNCTION FAN CONTROLLER (18-01-2005)
While the Hardcano 13 is not for everyone, the PC enthusiast wanting a device to monitor multiple system temperatures and control up to four fans would have to look long and hard to find anything better. Throughout several days of testing, the device performed flawlessly and exceeded my expectations in a number of respects.

THERMALTAKE PUREPOWER 680 WATT ATX POWER SUPPLY (04-01-2005)
It's a rare product indeed that I can't find some fault with. The Thermaltake PurePower 680W is one of those products. Stability, power, features, finish and quality are all first rate. Hell, I'm even using the box it came in, with its nifty plastic carry handle, to store spares.

THERMALTAKE BLUE 120MM BLUE LED SMART CASE FAN (30-11-2004)
I must say that I'm very impressed with the Thermaltake Smart Case fan. The packaging, product quality and accessories are all top-notch. I used nothing more than a screwdriver to take advantage of all options and never had to dip into my collection of spare parts to get it running or installed.

THERMALTAKE CIRCLEFIRE MULTI-MEDIA DRIVE BAY (11-11-2004)
Well, I kicked the tires, drove it around the block and put it through its paces and I'd have to say that I'm underwhelmed. While I personally find it visually appealing and appreciate its build quality, the Circle Fire falls on its face in the performance department.

VANTEC CABLE SLEEVING KIT (31-05-2004)
Cable sleeving kits are a great convenience for modders. What Vantec has done is offer us a fantastic solution, with a variety of choices in terms of color (including some that are UV reactive). The braided, expandable sleeving makes the work easier, however do be prepared to remove a few molex ends if you want to use smaller sleeves.

VLSYSTEM'S LOST IN SPACE (L.I.S) EXTERNAL MULTIFUNCTION DISPLAY (05-02-2004)
The Lost In Space (L.I.S.) VFD Blue Platinum from VL System is a fantastic LCD with a great software package. It is very easy to operate and configure, and outputs information that is handy for the average user and mandatory for overclockers. It is sleek in appearance and fits into a variety of cases, and the display was clear regardless of what angle I looked at it from.

MEMOREX MODZ GEAR : MODDING SUPPLIES MEET MAINSTREAM (21-01-2004)
I am really happy to see a mainstream producer jumping into the modding pool of computing. What this means is modding supplies with be more readily available seeing Memorex already has a very strong distribution network. Prices on Memorex's gear are also bound to be better priced than the competition with their ability to buy large quantities at a lower cost.

CREMAX ICYDOCK MB911APGF INTERNAL IDE HARDDRIVE RACK (12-12-2003)
Overall, I was quite impressed with the ICY Dock. It did a fine job of keeping my hard-drive cool and is amazingly easy to remove from its tray if needed. I was rather pleased with the included 12V fan, which did a superb job of keeping my ICY Dock well below average case temperatures.

VL SYSTEM'S INDY LED FRONT AUDIO DISPLAY (23-10-2003)
I was fairly disappointed with this product. There are too many issues with the unit such as the stereo connector, the writing on the faceplate, the loss of the case HDD activity LED and the lack of any real options leave me craving a better display.

SILENX 400 WATT ULTRA QUIET POWER SUPPLY (7-10-2003)
I simply cannot praise the SilenX 400W PSU enough. I mean, I beat the hell out of this little unit, and it laughed at me. It never faltered once, and held true to all of its claims. It is stable and amazingly quiet. Power supplies are, in my opinion, the most important part of a system.

CREMAX ICYDOCK BODYGUARD525 ADVANCED HARD DRIVE RACK (5-10-2003)
The ICY DOCK Bodyguard525 is not only worthy of one of your 5 1/4" bays … it actually deserves one. The unit came through on all of its claims to protect the hardware (cooling the HDD anywhere from 4-6 degrees Celsius) and it provides the user with useful monitoring tools. It is aesthetically pleasing, sleek, stylish, and fits in many different case designs.

PROJECT BLUE ICE (07-08-2003)
Many of you may have been following Blue Ice from a few of the forums I post in, but this is the real deal… More detail, more pictures, and more depth. I'm very excited to release Blue Ice, as it has taken me a lot of time and effort, and thanks to many-a-sponsor, she's now complete!! Well enough crap… Onto the mod!!

CaseAce Geargrip LCD Harness and LT Case Carrier (14-12-2002)
Enough already with the clumsy boxes and wheels. You need to carry a case ? CaseAce it! If these two products don't quite fit your needs they will always have something else. And they are always open for suggestions. I now look forward to going to a LAN-party instead of fearing the agony of carrying the case and monitor.

Case Lighting Review (01-12-2002)
Overall, I was impressed with the build and completeness of everything I was provided. I didn't need an electrical engineering degree or a soldering iron to make things work, and that makes me happy. The light from all the products was clear and constant, with little variation throughout the length.

Antec Truepower 430 watt (30-09-2002)
Now, you might think that this powersupply is noisy... Think again. The Powersupply AND the three casefans make LESS noise then the Boxed cooler on my AMD. To be honnest : my SCSI drives are anoying me right now because I can hear them rattle. Now that's a first. I guess Antec was really telling the truth about their Antec Low Noise Technology.

Enermax EG365P-VE 350 Watt Manual Fan Controlled Whisper Power Supply (18-08-2002)
One the the foundation blocks of a fast, efficient and problem free computer system has to be the power supply. Most instability problems with stock or even overclocking ventures taken place at a workstation can more than often be boiled down to an inferior power supply with improper current flows on its certain voltage rails.

V.L. System L.I.S LCD Indicator (21-07-2002) updated
It's a great looking gadget. And it has some extra value for taking it to LAN-party's. I thought it to be useful since I never actually see my desktop and I still want to know what goes on in my computer. So it doesn't just look great.

Kingwin Multifunction Transfer Panel & KF-201-DF Mobile IDE Rack w/ LCD (06-06-2002)
Temperatures and the monitoring thereof is a primary concern for the elite computer user of today. It seems that every peripheral you can stick, install, add or insert into your computer has some kind of sensor and display to monitor some nook or cranny of your computer case and/or system. Kingwin was kind enough to supply a couple computer components that could really help in monitoring YOUR computer.

Kingwin Hard Drive Mobile Racks Comparison & Install Guide (20-04-2002)
How many times do you have a file that you would like to share with someone. But, unfortunately, it is too big to fit on the standard 80min/700mb CD-R's of today and a far cry from even trying to fit on a 3.5" 1.44mg floppy. For pure convenience, swapping hard drives is the best way to go.

Enermax EG365P-VE 350 Watt PSU (14-03-2002)
I am pleased and satisfied with my purchase of this PSU. It has brought stability to my overclocked computer system, aided in cooling my system, added the ability to add more power hungry components to my system.
