QNAP TS-439 PRO INTRODUCTION

You may have heard the buzz recently about Intel's Atom processor - it is their smallest one yet. With its low power consumption and tiny form factor, it was designed to power the affordable and popular netbooks being scooped up by consumers right now. While netbooks are still the most common devices to find these little processors in, they are no longer the only one.

With NAS units for home and business evolving into what are basically miniature servers it only makes sense to incorporate the Atom processor's size, efficiency, and affordability into the world of network storage.

And with that, I bring you today's review – the QNAP TS-439 Pro, the world's first Atom-powered NAS for business. Featuring four drive bays, several RAID options, and a host of other features that well exceed the scope of this walkthrough, the best question to ask in regards to this product is “what can't this NAS do?”
