PRODUCT INSTALLATION AND TESTING

Information on the installed hard drive is readily available, and you can even scan for bad blocks and format the drive right from the interface. As you can see, RAID 0/1 and linear disk options are also listed, but not available since there is only one disk installed.

A large appeal of a surveillance system such as this is the ability to monitor recordings while away from home. To do this, set up an account at dyndns.org and enter your information here on the NVR interface. You can then monitor your home or office wherever there is a computer with an internet connection.

In the event you don't want to record 24/7, a scheduler is built in. The day and time can be specified and up to 15 different schedules can be saved. For times when everyone is at work or school or the family will be on vacation, this will come in handy.

Last but most definitely not least, logging keeps track of informational events and errors happening within the system. This is where I noticed the wireless cameras would lose connection with the router for a few seconds every hour or so. When I relocated the cameras closer to the router, the problem went away. Looks like the cameras might have poor range over wireless, or something isn't quite right with my router.
