QNAP NVR-1012 NETWORK SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM INTRODUCTION

I never gave much thought to surveillance and security until I bought my first home. After signing my life away to the mortgage lender and taking on a hoard of new responsibilities, the light bulb went off and I realized why home security is such a hot topic. The world we live in is unfortunately not always a friendly place, and protecting your family and belongings is something you can't put a price on.

We've all seen the commercials advertising home security systems that monitor the premises 24/7 and provide a quick link to emergency services. While they are great at providing peace of mind, what they do not offer is video surveillance (unless you're willing to fork over a lot more cash, that is). The benefits of video however, are obvious - it is nearly impossible to dispute what is captured, making it a crucial piece of evidence in police investigations and court trials.

It might be intimidating to think about setting up a video surveillance system in your home, so I invite you to read today's review because it's not as complicated as you might think. QNAP has sent the Tweaknews labs a SOHO network surveillance system to check out, and it promises an easy setup process. It even includes two IP cameras to get you started; the only thing that isn't included is a SATA hard drive.

Let's get this show on the road, shall we?
