The feature list is pretty impressive for a unit in this price range. Like most NAS units, the Valkyrie is diskless so the user must supply the hard drives. This is the first time I've used a NAS from Patriot and if it turns out to be as good as their memory, this should be a pretty decent product. One never knows though, so for now I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic.
PRODUCT COMPOSITION

Patriot did a good job of packaging the NAS so it wouldn't get damaged during shipping. It arrived at the lab in perfect condition. The box is attractive and has a large photo of the unit on the front. On the sides and back you can read up on the features and specs.

With the outer box removed, we can see the NAS is further protected with foam blocks. Accessories include an Ethernet cable, power cable and power adapter, setup CD, and quick start guide. Current pricing is around $150, which is pretty aggressive given the feature set.
