PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES
The above specifications (from the Antec website) are pretty impressive. The P-180 is a super mid-tower chassis with a total of eleven drive bays. With three 120mm fans included in the case and room for another 120mm and an 80mm, cooling shouldn't be an issue.
The P-180's impressive feature set (also from Antec's website) is listed below:
Unique upper and lower chamber structure. The power supply resides in a separate chamber to isolate heat from the system and lower system noise
Innovative three-layer side panel (aluminum, plastic, aluminum) dampens system generated noise, making this one of the quietest cases available
No Power supply included. To optimize performance of the P180 the choice of power supply is crucial. Antec recommends choosing from our SP-500 power supply or Phantom, Neo/NeoHE or TruePower 2.0 series .
- 1 rear 120mm Tricool fan (standard) with 3-speed control to balance quiet with cooling
- 1 top (standard) 120mm TriCool Fan
- 1 lower chamber (standard) 120mm x 38mm (thick) TriCool Fan
- Antec Quiet Computing Air Duct for better, quiet cooling of the graphics card
- 1 front (optional) 120mm fan
- 1 80mm fan (optional) for graphics cards
11 Drive Bays:
- 4 x 5.25" external drive bays
- 1 x 3.5" external drive bays
- 6 x 3.5" internal drive bays
Motherboards: Standard ATX (12" x 9.6")
Front mounted USB, IEEE 1394 (FireWire®,i.Link®) & Audio ports
Double hinge door design: allows the door to open up to 270º
Material: 0.8mm cold rolled steel for durability through the majority of chassis, 1.0mm cold rolled steel around the 4x HDD area.
Built-in washable air filter keeps harmful dust out of your case.
Built-in toolbox so you can carry small parts with your case. Look on the back of the upper chamber removable HDD cage.
The P-180 arrived from Antec double-boxed. After removing the outer shipping box, I found the case itself encased in the best packaging I've ever seen. It's always a pleasure to see a company ship a quality product in quality shipping materials. Kudos to Antec for outstanding packaging. One minor complaint, though. The protective film covering the front and side panels was difficult to remove, requiring patience (which I have in limited supply) and a fair amount of, shall we say, “colorful” language (at which I'm very adept).
With the packing materials removed, the P-180 is revealed. As you can see, it has a classic, subdued look with its brushed aluminum panels and black trim. If not for the front ports and Antec logo on the top right corner of the door, one might mistake this for some kind of high-tech household appliance. (Which, I suppose it could become, in the right hands!)
Packed with the P-180, there is a zip-bag containing the following materials:
- A document outlining the terms of Antec's 3-year warranty
- A user's manual
- An invitation to participate in an online survey
- A pin-assignment addendum to the manual
There are some other nifty gadgets included with the P-180, but as they are attached to other components inside the case, I'll discuss them in the next section.
