PRODUCT PICTORIAL & WALKTHROUGH
Let's take a walk around this simple product.
The flash drive has a small lobe where you can attach or remove the included strap when required. The strap doesn't need to be removed in order to use the drive. As said earlier, the strap can be attached to a keychain or can be used as is.
To help me illustrate just how small this drive is, I brought in a few props for an easy comparison. As you can see, this drive is barely bigger than the tip of my index finger or a penny. Anyone complaining about this drive being too big has to be joking. As with the Mini-Kart, you might have a case for complaining that it is too small and loosing it in you pant's pocket. When you tell a beautiful girl you have a Gig in your pants, you won't be kidding. ;) (P.S. No, I have not actually tried that line in real life.)
To use the drive you simply rotate the USB connection out from under its' cover. You don't have to completely extend it and this will come in handy seeing you won't have to remove the carrying strap to make a connection. Overall, I can see no faults from the design.
PRODUCT PRACTICALITY & PERFORMANCE
To boil it down, this product is a no brainer. It is tiny, it is easy to use, it is relatively robust and should take the regular abuse in your pant's pocket or key ring without failing for quite some time. I know some people might bawk that their standard thumbdrives are not hard to deal with themselves, but you have to understand a standard thumbdrive is a dump truck compared to the roadster.
It is small, it is a gadget and I absolute love using it. There is nothing like going out to a computer maintenance call with only this small toy in tow to drag all your favorite software utilities around.
Let me be clear, this drive is not being pushed as being one of those hyper-transfer thumbdrives, it is only being marketed as a small USB 2.0 drive capable of standard USB 2.0 transfer rates. This drive is just as fast as any drive I have used in the past. For an example of how fast this drive will accept data, I copied a 175meg file to and from the drive and it took exactly 1.5 minutes to transfer either way. This is not the quickest transfer in the world, but it is nothing to snub either. Through two weeks of constant use this drive has eeked its way into being one of the products I use the most when doing service calls.
