OCZ ROADSTER INTRODUCTION



Floppy? Where? What is a floppy? Has anyone really even seen on in the last 2-3 years? I know I saw one in a book once. You might be thinking where I am going with this, but in a few years you will understand. The death of the floppy disk as a way to transport your files thankfully is dead. No more spanning disk sets where one disk goes bad and ruins the whole job and gone are the days of carrying CDs and DVDs to transport your data.


The flash drive and its' solid state memory technology has allowed the user to transport a lot of data easily with relative security and safety. Because of this, the flash drive is a common tool being used by a growing percentage of the population. A couple years ago most people never really knew they existed and the options available had smaller capacities unless you wanted to put a tidy sum down for a flash drive that had say 512Mb which was quite large at that time. With numerous flash drive companies jumping into the growing market, features and capacities are growing while physical sizes are diminishing.


For example, we recently reviewed OCZ's Mini-Kart 1GB flash drive HERE which could be summed up as being nothing more than a wafer. Now OCZ has released an even smaller drive called the Roadster which we will be reviewing today. If you found the Mini-Kart to be a little difficult to keep track of, the Roadster might be a good option.
