PRODUCT WALKTHROUGH & PICTORIAL
The main characteristic that makes this product unique and attractive to the consumer is its' ultra slim size. With its' dimensions only measuring in 43mmX19mmX2.8mm (LxWxH), there is no way this product could be even remotely deemed a pain to carry in the pocket. As mentioned earlier, I found out during everyday use that I was always patting myself down trying to find it.
The one thing that cuts down on the size is the actual USB connector. Instead of the metal protection cover you basically just have the main card connector to slip into the slot. Once inserted windows takes care of everything and installs the drivers within seconds.
As another surprising addition, the Mini-Kart also comes with a small built-in activity LED which will blink when a file transfer is underway, and stay solid when not in use, but still attached to the computer.
One thing I did want to mention is although this drive is small, it is very well made and should no pose a breakage risk. I have had this drive in my wallet, in my back pant's pocket, in my coat pocket with my huge amount of keys and I have even dropped it onto the ground on three occasions with no problems. Because of its' low weight, the drive does not carry a lot of force when it hits the ground and therefore damage, if any, is nothing to be concerned about.
BASIC PRODUCT TESTING
This small drive is not meant to compete directly with the ultra fast drives on the market today. It is directly targeted at the basic USB 2.0 drive. Though several days of use and testing, most people won't be able to detect the small amount of performance difference when compared to other full size drives on the market today. The drive is USB 2.0 compatible, but it does pack the same performance as a full size drive. But in my mind, the difference will never be seen by anyone. I personally don't get upset when a file takes an extra second or two to have a file written.
As the results show above, this drive is easily comparable to what is on the market and should cover anyone's portable data workload easily.
